I truly think Hazel deserves to win

I even registered after years of lurking to make my case!

I thought she was cool, chill and likeable in the early days. More than just a model and, though into her looks, was approachable and gave everyone the time of day. Never acted above anyone due to her looks. Also dealt calmly and maturely with certain situations e.g. Charlie putting her foot in it about Hazel's ex who died. As annoying as Dan could be, he was certainly a good judge of character, and it think it says something about her that he showed unwavering loyalty to her all the way through, even when he discovered she was unpopular and could be harmful by association.

Then there was the Daley romance situation. I think she let herself down here, only because her flirtation was at times a little desperate. I think she needs to see that she has a lot to offer, beyond her looks. In her defence, I think she was just bored and wanted some fun - what is BB for after all? (As an aside, have we even seen two housemates kiss this series? This is all so tame compared to say, Makosi with Anthony in the pool back in the day.)

I don't see why she should be vilified for the Daley girlfriend situation. It was Daley's call to say whether he wanted to continue the relationship or not, if anyone should be vilified it is him. And at times he was claiming that he was single. Why isn't Dexter vilified for ditching his girlfriend in pursuing Charlie? He is a favourite - clearly a sexist double standard among the public that I would like to see challenged with a turnaround for Hazel.

Also let's remember that she was VOTED INTO THE SAFEHOUSE. Like a good housemate, she flirted with a little spice in the house. The producers and public wanted some action in there, yet Hazel (and not Daley) is vilified for delivering the goods.

Regarding the 'aggressive' situation, she didn't play the victim which I thought was honourable, considering that she did consider it to be 'playfighting' in the moment. She didn't badmouth Daley (though I wouldn't blame her if she did) and didn't brand him a villain for her gain, choosing to move on without fussing or even telling to housemates until she was forced into it. Not attention seeking and not one for fuelling the house with drama or idle gossip.

I also respect her A LOT for not becoming a walker. So many others have walked for far less. Compare her with say, Orlaith from BB6, also a model. Hazel is everything Orlaith was not. Naturally beautiful, intelligent and holds her head high, refusing to crack under the pressure. And especially knowing that there must be a huge furore outside over Daley's removal with her at the centre, I respect her for having the guts to see it through to the end. Even with all the shit thrown at her last week with the gunging, the ranking and the snake outfit. Even with BB hanging her out to dry, she showed she's a tough cookie and not a quitter, despite not enjoying it much with her best friend Dan gone and little stimulation from anyone else.

Finally, I find Hazel to be one of the nicest in the house, with no outward nastiness and no hidden agenda. She put up with childish, one-sided nastiness from Gina and rarely seemed to let it phase her, even going out of her way to carry on being civil to Gina and engaging with her (see the scene where Gina dressed Charlie from the closet - Hazel is heard in the background trying to get involved and complimenting Gina but Gina just ignores her). Has she ever been actively and outwardly nasty like Gina? Has she ever goaded anybody like Dexter did to Callum? (I do like Gina and Dexter by the way - but I find it strange that, say, Gina is a hero for 'keeping it real' with her irrational hatred of Hazel, while Hazel, who is more dignified, is unpopular.) Is Hazel desperate to be liked and to win like Charlie? No. She has said openly that she would like to win and could use the money, but doesn't expect it. She is honest about wanting more modelling work afterwards. She doesn't talk shit. She doesn't even bitch much really, nothing like the bitching and two-facedness from many of the others. She has dealt with the public reaction to her commendably well.

Overall, I am amazed that she has been so level-headed and resilient throughout this whole thing. She's gotten involved, she's been interesting, and she hasn't meant any harm towards anyone. She is, on the whole, well liked by her housemates and hasn't done anything nasty, unlike many others. I am probably unrealistic in hoping she wins, but I do hope she exits to cheers. I'll be voting for her repeatedly as she's a nice girl - and girls should be supported and celebrated more in Big Brother.

Sorry for the essay, just had to put that out there! Wonder if anyone will agree!

Gina to win though.

Really good post and I completely agree. Even though I don't want Hazel to necessarily,I would be extremely happy for her if she did win as she thoroughly deserves it. She has had arguably the roughest time in there.

I just hope she survives this week, people must have really hated Callum for Hazel to survive.

Shes definitely a different person since Daley left and Im not on about the flirting or whatever, just her whole demeanour has changed. I'd be very surprised if she won though, not all the viewers share your views

I really agree and you explain it better than me in other posts. She is calm and has level head. She seems more adult and no imature than the others. She and Jackie were most mature girls in there and you expect it from Jackie (and Hazel is more calmer than Jackie too). Jemima, Sally, Wolfy, Gina, Sophie are all react a lot when they hear things that upset them. Hazel is much more calm and intelligent here in react in nice way.

Great post also

Sorry OP, I don't agree that she didn't do anything nasty. She and Daley went too far and hurt someone else's feelings in the process. Others may see nothing wrong in that and that's up to them, but I've had it done to me in the past and it's a rotten thing to put someone through.

I honestly couldn't support someone to win who was willing to hurt someone who'd done nothing to deserve it.

Still, it looks like she's gaining supporters, so you may yet see her in the final. Don't think she has a chance in hell of winning though!

Welcome to the forum, hereicome, and well done on such a well written first post!

I agree with everything you say wholeheartedly and I would love it if Hazel won, too, and to be honest, it's not looking like too much of an impossibility anymore!

I agree that she has no chance of winning because of the Daley situation. She was upfront and sexually forthright, rather than the tactics employed by the likes of Helen and Chantelle - who were involved in cheating situations also - yet went on to win.

I do agree completely with the opening post - perfect summary of all of the reasons I like Hazel.

Excellent first post, welcome to the forum.
Not a Hazel fan,but I have to agree with a lot that you have said.
I think its to late for her to make ground on Gina or Sam or Dexter
To me she has been the best model to enter BB,Smart strong,confident.beautiful.
I never took to her mainly as she was Ginas rival.
But if it was a Gina Hazel final I would be happy as Hazel has been put through hell by BB.

Very good post. Put alot of what I think but can't bee a*sed to She won't win but if I could, I would vote for her to win.

As a slight sideline, I dislike the way gina fans on here completely abuse Hazel fans and vice versa. Wish they could just deal with the facts and try see things objectively

I wonder if she has some times in diary room to have counselling. I mean like one or two times after Daley in safe house. I know it was only very short thing when Daley turned strange but it must have been big shock, and with Hazel in strange situation and the high emotion of BB house then it must be difficult that she had to feel normal again.

Very good post OP . Hazel seems a very balanced, down to earth sort of girl .

Men and choosing the wrong guys will be her downfall, like has happened to so many beautiful women.

Welcome to the forum, Hereicome, and what a great first post. I cringed at Hazel's behaviour at first, mainly because of the desperate way she flirted with Daley and the way she pressured him in the Safe House to get into her bed for a 'cuddle'. I also wildly misjudged Daley and thought he was playfighting with Hazel when I watched the live feed that night. However, when I saw the full footage the next day it was clear to me how wrong I was and I felt very sorry for Hazel as she was clearly shocked and confused. Since Daley left, I have grown to like her more and more and I completely agree with everything you've said.

Sorry, but the damage was done in the beginning with Daley. If she showed any semblance of regret for chasing a man so desperately, knowing full well he had a girlfriend, i'd be inclined to forgive her. But she has shown no remorse or regret, in fact, she's shown the opposite, a very cocksure "don't give a f*ck" attitude.

if anyone wants her to win the show, then I have to say they have a very poor memory and are very fickle.

she has done nothing wrong but try and have a bit of fun, seems others in the house think fun is getting violent when it comes to hazel.

I struggle to see how the grey dressing gown is more liked.

She is just easy going and fun loving basically and has been assaulted twice for it.

I have 10p on at 33-1 (best I could get) I assume the £1 on Dexter is dead money so only Hazel can
save my bacon now

Also Sam and Gina are wavering a bit recently and she seems the best of the remaining *dross*

^ Couldn't agree more. She's an arrogant, self-centered person who does not deserve to win and if BB hadn't mucked about with the process, would've gone home weeks ago.

Gina seems quite jealous of her.

She does seem to look down on the other HMs which I don't like about her at all. She only ever really had time for Dan and Daley and she seems to treat the twins as some sort of playthings\pets.
