In the past 5 years ive tried iOS, Android and WP8 and have found WP to be the easiest to use, easiest to customise and the most user friendly, the only thing that lets it down is apps but it was the same on andriod for a while just takes a while for developers to catch up, when they do i can see wp taking off.

I found the iphone when i used it good but too restrictive, it all gad to be done their way or no way at all, Andriod i just found buggy and way too cluttered and scruffy looking, WP just seems a good medium between iphone and android, smart but not as restrictive

Anyone else using it and enjoying it? I'm currently using a 925 (had 920 but smashed it by accident so bought a 925)

I've had my WP for a couple of months now and really like it. I've not had an iPhone, but from my partner's feedback I gather it's not very flexible. Liked my HTC Android at first, but it was soon dropped from Android updates, making it really slow. I agree it began to feel cluttered.

I only have the Lumia 520, so a more basic phone, but really fab for 130. Does everything I want, not really had a problem with getting apps and I love the tiles

I like everything about Windows Phone except application support and performance. Even fast resume on apps that support it is slow compared to an iPhone.

If they can get the apps situation sorted out then they could be on to a winner...but they are taking a long time over it and Windows Phone 7 was around for a couple of years before hand and there is still a lot of the big name apps missing.

If the apps are not a problem then Windows Phone 8 is great and my preferred phone OS.

Got a HTC 8x and love it. Moved from iPhone 4s, and although it misses some apps - the majority that I use are there.

Only annoying thing is that I cant change my DNS settings to allow me to access content from America etc through Overplay ( Netlfix etc ).

An Android's what you make it. It can be as neat as the iPhone, as blocky and animated as Windows Phone or as scruffy and technical as desktop Windows. It can even run desktop Windows. That's the beauty of Android, you have so much control and the latest version (Jellybean) is far from buggy.

It's a chicken and egg situation. The platform has a limited number of apps which puts some consumers off so the growth of WP is slow. The number of phones out there (and therefore the number of customers to sell apps to) is small, so developers will hold off developing for it until it's worth their while.

You might find smaller devs will try developing for it, but as the development environment is based around Microsoft systems, and the majority of app developers will be using Macs to develop for iOS and to port/develop for Android, it's a bigger shift to do Windows Phone.

Developers who do PC stuff would find it easier. Essentially, I'm saying there are some barriers to entry for development studios to do WP. Initially it was the same on Android, but Google very sensibly made it easier for iOS developers to create their apps for Android, and that's when the number of Google apps really picked up.

WP8 is just a souped up feature phone OS suitable for basic users with basic needs. And it is so laggy compared to Android. Tap on an app in Android and bang your in. With WP it lags horribly with those horrendous transitions. It is no surprise it is not catching on. The lack of Google as well is an absolute is a killer for us power users.

No lags here. Apart from the latest version of Here+ which appears to have been borked.

about 6 weeks ago I went out with the intention of getting an HTC One and ended up with a Nokia Lumia 720. The reason is I love the feel, weight and size of the phone in my hand. The HTC was just to big and the reason I love Windows phone so much is its so much different to the normal boring samsung / Apple phones that are every where and I love the support you get from Nokia, I am a big fan of Nokia music - its free and its fab. Nokia Here Maps is so much better the Google Maps and best of all with O2 its only 22.00 a month. Im sticking with Windows.

Got a 920. Wanted to hate Windows phone, but gave it a go, and frankly, I love it. Fast, fluid, stable. Does everything I want quickly and smoothly. Will be upgrading to a 1020 as soon as it comes out. For lower end users the basic Nokias offer a great experience for the price, I got a 620 set up for my Mum, and she loves it. It's got all the speed of the 920, and it really does make you think whether you need the top end phone! (I got it for the camera).

Barclays Banking App
Grindr
Jack'd

They are missing and the 3 apps i use the most. More than likely a lot more i use are not available either, until recently they did not have a decent youtube app for Windows mobile.

But don't matter, after trying a Windows mobile i know i do not want one, horrible interface and i hate words often going off screen. For example if you went into settings it would say 'System Applica' instead of System Applications because the 'tions' would be off screen. This would appear all over the place and made it look messy.

There are a lot less games on WP8 at the moment...nowhere near the amount of good quality ones either.

The thing about words going off the screen is common to all Windows Phones and part of the design - I for one like it but can see how others don't.

I have a good game of Solitaire and a good game of Backgammon. Don't need anything else.

This is the problem I also have which keeps me from using WP8 full time, I've also noticed a lot of the time the WP8 version of apps are crap compared to the iOS and Android versions, Facebook and Dropbox anyone? If I had instagram, vine and a few other apps I'd be happy enough.

The latest version of Facebook is just like the iOS and Android versions save for the chat heads.

For vine, try 6sec. For Instagram, there is instance and 6tagram is coming.

Why use Dropbox when you have SkyDrive which natively integrates into windows 8?
