It was like he had only just found out for the first time.....I don't understand ...Did Nick say something else he didn't know???
Or was it that he was actually hearing it from the horses mouth for the first time.
Any one with any suggestions please let me know.
THANKS

I wondered this too....but maybe it was because he realised Nick knew what he had been up too?

The realisation that everything's outing the open and he's no longer in control and now has to face up to what happens next.

He probably thought he was so machiavellian that a simpleton like Nick would never catch on...but David isn't as smart as he thought he was!!

The reveal was hilarious. David looked so gormless.

Thought the exact same thing! All I can think is that he some how blocked it out.

He is arrogant enough to believe himself cleverer than everyone else so will be shocked that Nick has worked it out. Also, it forces it out into the open with the very real possibility that Kylie will leave him and Gail might take Nick's side given the vendetta David has been waging.

As someone else mentioned, he's had a form of sick control until now.

To give him the benefit of the doubt, it struck me that maybe deep down he was harbouring a hope however slim that he might have been wrong about Nick, but when Nick admitted everything all hope had gone, and left him devastated.

Or maybe not....

I suppose David was too preoccupied with destroying Nick he forgot the reason why he was doing it! Lol

I thought it was maybe because Nick owned up to it but didn't appear to be very sorry... in the way that David might of expected anyway

I thought it was because it was the first time someone involved had actually had the balls to admit it to his face, and there was no way he could pretend, however slim that chance was, that he had misheard or misunderstood. The small 'what if' has been completely removed.

I think David was shocked to hear the words actually come out of Nick's mouth that he had indeed slept with Kylie that night and the baby might well be his. It was like the ultimate kick in the stomach for David and the pain was obviously unbearable.

I think it was because Nick was shaking him out of his mad world. David doesn't really want a resolution, he just wants to hurt Nick.

Hearing it from the horses mouth made it more 'real' for him. I thought it was a very normal reaction.

He's actually been enjoying his hate campaign against Nick by going around smirking all the time, which is a pretty twisted and dysfunctional response to the infidelity of his wife and brother.

It does seem as if he has mental health issues or a personality disorder....his reaction to the revelation about Christmas night was far from normal.

Jack P is one of the strongest actors on Corrie,he always puts in a good and believable performance and has made David one of my favourite characters.

Why don't you leave and Leanne stays here and you hand me the keys to The Bistro. A nasty, calculating individual. Quality villainy from Platty.

He's always been a bit unstable. At 15 he sent a string of cards to Gail, Sarah and Audrey pretending to be Richard Hillman, then he faked suicide to ruin Sarah's wedding to Jason.

That's how I read it. He wanted Nick to be disorientated by not knowing who was doing it. He has lost control now.

He has needed professional help for a long time now - his desire for revenge against anybody who annoys him is not within the realms of normality and even when he gets caught out (such as when he put the drugs in Bethany's doll) he just gets his a telling off and a job/promotion/sent on a course at the salon.

Throwing peanuts at Gail should have at least started ringing alarm bells.
