Well exactly! That's what I really don't understand! I mean I don't know how it all works and what it costs to promote or put on iTunes blah blah but as you say, what harm could it do? I'm sure it could shift some units! I have no idea how many? But surely it's better than nothing? Or reduce it/have some sort of offer to gain interest

Trust me, Christmas music gets played here in the US CONSTANTLY and each year the Christmas season starts earlier. I go to stores to get stuff for Halloween and they already have Christmas stuff out lol . So I think that if the management and label actually have interest in Leona and promote it, this could be what she needs to become popular in the US again.

I see this as a great segway to the 4th album, especially as long as it's not released too long after the Christmas album. And I completely agree with you about how this album will definitely showcase her talent. I hope the original songs are powerful and I'm sure there will be some huge vocals and high notes on the album in general.

The pop format rarely buys album sales. Younger folk love to buy digitally. Singles mostly. AC/HAC and other formats buy albums. She needs to focus on those formats before heading to Top 40.

I agree with what many of you have mentioned. Leona does have a lot of potential in the US. I don't know why but it seems to me that if a song does well in the US, then the rest of the world seems to just follow suit?

If they put enough into promotion than she's bound to at least ground traction over there, and once she's gained enough all they have to do is maintain it with frequent releases

Hi Joani, welcome back from hols. I have just come back from a few days away as well.
Really interesting reading over the past few pages. It is so difficult to choose a favourite ballad as far as I am concerned, but Fingerprint is up there for me, but I am still a real sucker for all of Leona's ballads.
Been looking at the recent Leona pics and she just looks so happy and she is sharing more private stuff with Dennis. Just got to love her.
I am seriously excited about the Xmas album. I have no doubt this will be Leona's time to shine. I know Xmas albums isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it will almost sure to bring Leona back to some of her fans that she has lost along the way, I hope so anyway.

omg ..and also christina..i think except adele all the pop queens of music business are going to release their album before december..IMO it's a my opinion nothing to be too negative..so don't offense or criticise too much..i would postpone the release of the christmas album to the next year..and instead i will release the lead single of the "normal"album in february..then another single at the end of april with the album because i think there won't be competiition at all..and then a summer single in july..then rereleased the album in october to be on x factor in order to sing a ballad proper for the autumn period ..and then release the lead single of christmas album at the end of november with the album too..i think that could be better...instead of release the christmas album this period she definetely could pass unnoticed..and she can't afford another flop she can't..

No way will the christmas album flop.Leona is the perfect singer for a christmas album. But what is your definition of flop? Anyway christmas comes every year, and leonas christmas album will be a staple for years to come.

A flop would be not making top 10 album or top 40 single
