EE - Who do you think the new producer will axe?

Sharon and Ian's friendship should be explored more- Newman has ignored their history.

I’m not sure whether he will swing the axe and get rid of a load. For all her faults, I actually think Newman has got rid of the dross (with a couple of exceptions) and the cast as a whole are actually pretty good. I think someone coming in and implementing mass axings isn’t always the best thing for a show.

I’d quite like to see DTC work with the cast he has and create some interesting stories for them. Look at each character individually and see what can be done. The new faces in Carl, Sadie and Jake (hopefully) show promise.

I do think there are a few deadwood cast members. Joey for example is just awful and hopefully pairing Lauren with Jake will make him redundant. Equally I’m not yet sure of the point of AJ other than to make up numbers of Masoods – my fear is if they get rid of him Mas and Tam will follow – perhaps that’s what needs to be done?

Other than that I’m pretty happy with the cast – I’m assuming there’s more to Sam than meets the eye, although if not, he could die a quick, but painful death.

Masood is a strong enough character to stand alone but AJ and Tamwar can certainly go.

I also think FatBoy, Joey and Kim need to go too.

Because Newman favours crap storylines like Alice and Tamwar instead. Useless woman

Let's hope he promptly bins most future Lorraine Newman storylines. Crap like Tamwar and Alice, and the seriously done-to-death Kirsty/Max and Kat/Alfie borefest is why viewing figures have declined.

totally agree with you Scott.

Kat is so much better without Alfie and Tamwar/Alice sounds as dull as dishwater.

I am not sure what is going to happen to Kirsty/Max/Carl...

Hopefully the masoods, kirsty, fatboy, poppy, joey and alice,

I have no issues with Kat and Alfie getting back together, just as long as they stop the constant affairs. The actors work pretty well together, but have been written appallingly. Kat works well either with or without him, but he is lost as a character without her.

Either keep them apart and have the balls to axe Alife, or get them back together and keep them together and bring back the fun couple we know they can be.

Will DTC have the balls to take Alfie out of the Vic?

That must be one of the first things he needs to do...

I agree. I was actually saying yesterday that I hope he re-writes a few stories.

Kirkwood did. He did a good clearout when he arrived...

I’m sure there are a few things in motion, but he does have a relatively clean slate to work from at the moment – that said, it does look like autumn has a load of things coming into fruition.

I still think axing charlie was a mistake.
The other decisions were ok though.

The only two I'd really like to see the back of are Joey and Alfie. Joey is a pointless character played by a terrible actor and Alfie is a bumbling idiot and I'm sick of his stupid face gurning behind the bar. The ongoing nonsense of even pretending to wonder if he WON'T reunite with his wife is beyond tedious.

There are other characters who need a serious overhaul but I wouldn't wield the axe just yet. The likes of Masood, AJ, Tamwar, Fatboy, Poppy and the Hartmans have potential but need work. And old favourites like Sharon and Shirley need to be better developed too.

Ian, Dot, Denise, Cora, Joey, Max have got to stay, but I'd like to see Phil go to prison.

AJ, Tamwar, Joey, Fatboy, Kirsty, Ava, Dexter, Sam and Kim.

Those are definitely 'in danger' but I can only see about half of them leaving.

Sam James, Kim Fox, Roxy Mitchell (She leaves with Ronnie after Ronnie's six-month stint), Billy Mitchell, Tamwar Masood and Max Branning.

Did he? Who did he axe exactly? I can't think of that many to be considered a "good clearout", but maybe my memory is betraying me here.
Also, the new castings that Kirkwood brought into the show were all mostly terrible, so that didn't help either.
