Well done Jack P Shepherd for playing your part with great skill while sitting in the van with Nick.
Those scenes would be a great Tutorial for some of the older, longer established performers to see just how it can be done! |

Yes he's a very good natural actor whatever material or role he is asked to portray. The scenes in the van were incredibly well done and very accurate way of reaction to what uncovered between them. His hitting of Nick was very believable, his range of being unhinged, upset, devious/evil, the range of his emotions and the way he naturally acts that is to be commended. Certainly deserves to be up for a best actor award this year, its long overdue.

I agree that Jack P Shepherd was great in those scenes last night, but not for showing his evil side. I thought he portrayed David's vulnerable side. Yes he already knew that Nick had slept with Kylie, but it was like he didn't really face up to the reality of that until Nick admitted it out loud, hence David's devastation and tears.
Playing his silly revenge games on Nick was his way of coping, without actually facing up to the truth of it, and I loved the look of shock on his face when Nick admitted it. It was like he knew he couldn't ignore what Kylie (not just Nick) had done any longer. Good performance I thought.

On the contrary, he showed that he wasn't evil. He showed vulnerability and fear and that he was just like everyone else.

A great performance last night, worthy of a man well in excess of his years. Well done Jack.

I have been quietly impressed with Mr Shepherd for the last couple of years, in spite of earlier revelations about his private life that made me think he was a despicable, cocky little oik I think his continued focus on and dedication to actually making sure he's improved as an actor is commendable.
He's like the antithesis to that bloody Flanagan woman, who was not in the slightest bit interested in improving as an actor, and subsequently never did, infact getting worse, and worse, and worse. |
