You will normally find that the estimate for fibre based services - also available from ISPs other than BT - are conservative. However, some users have reported that their lines have eventually synced at the estimated speed as more people have gone to fibre services as this introduces what's known as crosstalk, causing interference and therefore a drop in sync speed. It seems like the estimates take crosstalk into account and present speeds based on a full cabinet. Availability dates can and do slip, so can't say if that'll be accurate or not.

They won't be if the majority of people of your cab sign up. The big Huawei ones can handle 288 connections, with the smaller ECI and Huawei handling 128 connections. So once these are filled, there's a lot of potential for noise to be introduced. Vectoring will limit the effects of this when it's introduced but that is some time off yet.

I think their estimates are the minimum speed you will get.
When i checked mine before i ordered it said 54 down & 14 up.
I now have infinity 2 installed and am getting over 74 down & 17 up.
So mine are a lot higher (especially down speed) than what the checker said.Impossible to know how many on my cab have signed up though, so speed may well drop as more people take infinity.

For infinity 2, £20 for 3 months then rising to £26.
Considering i was paying £14.50 for a 3meg d/l speed on ADSL2 i'm well happy

I am on infinity2 and my speeds are approx 70Mb download & 17Mb upload, if you get the chance then I would take infinity without hesitation. Also check what Quidco or Topcashback are offering as well. If you are a little lucky BT might screw your order up, they did with me, and offered me the package for £21.00 per month including anytime calls.

Yes i'm roughly 900 ft, had reason to phone again today and spoke to a rather cheeky git who accused me of using the problems i have had to try and terminate my contract, but the best lie was that Infinity 2 max is down 51 mbps for my line and 1 mbps up and 26 mbps is more than adequate.
