I've been keeping an eye on the student deals Orange have on their website. Unfortunately I'm not an NUS member and my course that I'm in wasn't through UCAS and with the nearest Orange shop over 40 miles away it's going to be hard to get direct info from Orange on the deals that they have. Has anyone here got the current deals they have for contracts? Namely that it offers an extra 1000 text messages a month, 1/2 price landline calls and phones available if you take 120 minutes plus per month. Can these be taken with the current online Your Plan offers or are they available with instore plans only? I just ask because 120 minutes & 1030 texts for £15 a month seems quite a good deal, even if I never got close to the 1000 texts!

Just done a check and it seems that it's in-store tariffs only - i.e. 30 mins for £15; 120 mins £25, but they throw in an extra 250 texts with this one, meaning you get 1250 texts a month.

On another kind of related note, I just had a play with the student deals on the other networks sites, Oranges seem the best, though none are really that great (for example O2 give you £25 off a new phone & T-mobile have some half price line rental deals).

However, on Virgin students can get a Siemens A60 (not the most feature packed phone in the world admittedly) for £26.99, with that you get £25 of airtime included, so the phone is only really costing £1.99 - bargin. I might get myself one as a spare

This student offer is known as a direct service plan only available through the orange retail shops and through orange direct sales on 0800 80 10 80. A Ucas number will be taken and checked.
