I want a family who will stick with the show and not leave,
people who we can see grow old and die onscreen,

My family would consist of a family who is unrealted to anyone on the Square,

A gran and granddad, a mum and dad, kids and a dog,

I wouldnt mind if the Hartmans just phased out into nothing, I wouldnt notice if they disappeared suddenly,

A family like The Slaters, a lot of them with much potential, look how much we have had out of The Slaters - Little Mo and Trevor, Lynne's Affairs and Miscarriage, YOU AIN'T MY MUVVA!

A large family with many characters to stir things up with the rest of The Square, but mixed gender. Loud mouthed.

Me cast in it but won't happen as I have no acting experience yet.

Loved that Era, I miss Little Mo,

I wouldnt mind a rebuild of the Slaters instead,

My ideal family would be something like the Millers!
I also loved that era as a kid!
Watching Darren grow from a 12 year old to a 20 something, felt realistic!

Darren was a far better character than the majority of the male youth they've promoted over the past few years. They really should have tried harder to hang onto him instead of roping in morons like the Moons and Joey.

This is what I posted on another thread:

They should be brave and introduce a new family and put them in the Vic. It’s ridiculous that the pub seems to rotate between a few characters and it’s had no soul since Peggy left.

This is my idea:

Bring in a new family of five with two high profile actors playing a married couple in their early 50s with their brood in tow. I would then have an older daughter who is also married plus a couple of sons to bring some testosterone in the pub.

They would run the pub as a family business (although perhaps the husband of the daughter could have his own career outside the pub) and each character would have their own storyline arc.

The main couple I would have as a solid, married unit – no matter what life throws at them they deal with it together. Never go to bed on an argument and are 100% committed to one another. I’d have the wife have MS and aware that the illness could have long term effects, she doesn’t let it get her down and is life and soul of the pub. In contrast the husband worries about the future and how the illness could present itself in later life. He will have a mother in a home suffering from dementia, who now later in life barely recognises him.

The daughter recently married an office worker, who has since been made redundant. Struggling financially, they have been taken under her parents’ wing, which he resents slightly. After a string of job rejections he is now retraining as plumber and trying to juggle several jobs so they can afford to get out from under her parents feet. She has a desire to start a family but he is reluctant due to financial worries.

The final two members of the family are two brothers in their late 20s. One is openly gay, which is accepted by all and is in love with his sister’s husband (who is aware but not reciprocal). He will have a BF but in an open relationship which confuses most on the Square.

The other brother will be fresh out of prison after wrongly being accused of beating up one of his brother’s former lovers. The family think it's a hate crime but he was actually set up by the guy he was accused of beating. Trying to keep his nose clean, he is working hard to be reaccepted into the family fold, but with his brother set against it and secretly plotting to get him out of the picture.

Characters that are reasonably attractive but played by good actors and actresses and cast really well.

Well-developed, dimensional characters.

Mix between comedy and drama.

No annoying add ons like the Brannings.

Maybe a family like the Butchers. Or siblings like the Mitchell brothers/Slater sisters.
