No, i very much doubt that you could play against any other console owner as they all use their own isp's, just everything in a console is different from a competitors console.

I suppose it's "possible" in a way but do you really see Sega and Sony teaming up to make it happen? Not likely!
It would be great if they did though. |

I have a dreamcast and was lucky enough to have a quick go on PS2. Let me tell you, the dreamcasts days are numbered.

Postie alot of people have said that they think the PS2 is better so far and I agree. But I was reading in the PS2 (official) forum that Sega are creating a package for around $21 a month for fast internet access for gamers. It will also include a free Dremacast and Keyboard and a refund if you already have bought the Dreamcast! Who knows?!

mmmm sounds like games machines are going the DSTB way.
I think it would be cool if Sony,SEGA,and Nintando offered a free "box" if you signed up to there internet service for a year. I would do it. |

Segas tie-in is 2 years though. At the pace at which this technology is evolving, how many adopters of the deal are going to be left paying off a contract they never use?

Last weekend, I managed to retrieve my old Dreamcast from the loft, and played a game on it, and needless to say, I quickly grew bored of it within minutes of playing!
Now, when I got out my old Playstation 2 and started playing games on that, I ended up playing well into the late evening and still not getting bored of it!
