Theories to why dexter is so desperate to win

it's well documented that he had a gambling problem ,
so maybe he needs the money and the story lines to generate an income because he is in debt .
as a poker player myself i have met and heard many stories from gamblers. Also dexter friend on bbots said he had a reason to go on big brother but she would not say why

could this be the reason why he is so desperate to win??

Ain't they all?

He's prepared to stoop to lower levels to win it, but he isn't more desperate per se.

He has always said he could never win it and thought he would be out within the first 2 weeks. Where then has he said he is desperate to win, as you are implying!?

Is it obvious? Hasn't it been discussed again and again.

Dexter has a deep rooted need for approval due to a being riddled with self doubt. Winning BB is the ultimate approval for someone like him.

They are all desperate to win. And they all have a game plan.

Its hardly unique to Dexter. Most entrants in this competition either want to or wouldn't mind winning. Some seem more desperate than others I agree but I would have thought all would want to win.

I would have said of this batch the twins were the most desperate to win.

Dexter in a previous series of BB would have been extremely underwhelming .

some of the housemates are more desperate for longer term reasons , like the twins think they are comedians , hazel wants to be the next AKA price , Sophie & Charlie think they can be pop stars , Gina a fashion icon etc

Maybe Dexter is another day older and deeper in debt.

Tbh, it's no different to every other year. There are 2 types of housemate... those who are desperate to win.. and those who would like to win.

Because he's a 3rd-rate twerp who thinks it's relevant. He fancies himself a player. He fancies himself media-savvy. He wouldn't have a ****ing chance with his ridiculously contrived and obvious nonsense if the show was still as it once was (ever so briefly, ever so slightly) relevant.

He's a clown, through and through.

Voilā!

They all would like to win (I don't think any of them are desperate to... maybe I'd say Sam hopes it most as he implied from other years he should place 1 or 2, but he's not desperate to either.)

Some want different things out of the show than others (usually the categories are career/fame, money and approval/love... with the middle one usually being the least important for the majority I think... or perhaps I am naive...? ) so winning means different things to different people, but why go on there unless even if you didn't believe you could win, you had the tiniest hope of it?!

Dexter has his book coming up:

"The Pretender"

http://www.dexterkoh.com/the-pretender/

He's got his seminars on how to pick up women:

http://www.dexterkoh.com/

And this gambling thing I found on Youtube (which I don't really understand and which might not have anything to do with Dexter any way ):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glO6YRtALaw

Dexter has a good heart, he helps people, for a price.

Winning "Big Brother" would mean he might have more opportunities to help people
