I thought he was alright and would love a comeback for the character. Of course David had signed onto a limited contract, so i wonder what they had planned for him.

This, especially about the age (though I imagine Lindsey was pleased when she found out she'd be snogging David Essex!). But it was the age gap that I found to be most unrealsitic- and about 6 months after he left a semi- drunk Carol revealed in passing that she fancied Michael!

Here, you are giving an opinion about his acting, so i can respect that.
In your previous post it came across as though you were saying it was a fact that he's crap actor, rather than you thinking he is.
We can debate until the cows come home about are the good and bad actors are in soaps, and neither of us can ever be proved right or wrong because there is no right and wrong on something as subjective as acting!

Also, it was not for you to say that the role should have been given to someone who could commit for a longer period.
Many characters in all kinds of series sign short term contracts. There was nothing wrong or unusual about Essex only staying for a few months or so.
