Weatherfield General

Just caught up on this evening's CS, the staff at Weathy General are not exactly the most tactile and sympathetic are they?

I thought that especially true of the ambulance man.

He was very aggressive and rude to David, who had to practically beg to go with Nick in the ambulance. Did the ambulance man not know that David was a) Nick's brother (I'm sure David told him) and b) also a victim of the accident?

After watching how these people behave in real life in 24 Hours In A&E, I found this so-called 'professional' anything but!

Also, when the Neuro-surgeon came in to David's ward and said "We need to remove the blood-clot or he will die" in a very unsympathetic manner. No doctor would EVER be that blunt. Poor writing and acting from the hospital staff. David's first nurse who went to collect the family, however, was really good. She is realistic of my experiences in hospitals.

At least David has his own room (as usual in Corrie).

That seemed to a cubicle in A & E though....they hadn't moved him to the wards yet.

I couldn't believe how rude the ambulance staff were to David. He had just been injured in an accident and his brother was critically ill and yet they were acting as if they were extremely annoyed by his questions. I would have thought their first priority would be to calm and reassure a car crash victim.

david was walking and talking
their priority would be getting nick

dont think they are obliged to say anything to you , id be grateful they looked after/resuscitated my bro rather than worry at how rude they were/weren't being.... david shouldnt be distracting them while they trying to save his brother

Yes I thought that too considering that the hospital wanted to keep David in overnight at least because of his head injury. I would hope that a real paramedic wouldn't act like him!

Yes I agree. Hospitals usually don't tell you the whole story until much later.

David was a victim of the crash himself though and had lost consciousness after it happened....he wasn't just a bystander acting like a pest.

I can't believe Wetherfield has its own general, I've never heard it mentioned before ever and I've watched for years.

Be fair guys, the ambulance & hospital staff probably couldn't cope because Marcus had the night off.

Little wonder they were a tad abrupt & woefully out of their depth.
