Just to clarify.

If the Humax is a 9300 or any other model than the HDR Fox-T2 then even if you did use the HDMI lead you won't get HD out of it. The 9300 is strictly SD only it cannot receive the Freeview HD channels.

I can't remember off the top of my head if the Humax comes with the aerial link lead in the box. Mind you if you're like me the box has probably long since gone in the recycling bin

And for the aerial link lead you most probably need a Male to Female or, as it may also be described, Plug to Socket. The ends look like this

Basically if you can plug the two ends into each other then it's the right cable

I'd recommend a Samsung smart tv. They have all the main catch up services available, i.e BBC iPlayer, ITV, 4oD and Demand 5. Well worth a look but some models can be expensive (depending on the size your after)

Thanks Chris. I thought the HDMI cable might come in handy for the new TV (if it doesn't come with one). I saved all the stuff that came with the Humax, and I don't think there was a cable of the sort that you have linked to, but I think I do have one anyway (goodness knows why).

Edited as I see I have another reply - thanks for the information about the Samsung. They seem to have more services available than Panasonic.

This is what I mean about some being expensive lol although John Lewis is worth a look as they give free 5 year warranties with their tv's

Here's some more affordable Samsungs.
