BT and TalkTalk to hit YouView guide with more than 130 internet channels

TalkTalk and BT will add more than 130 internet-based TV channels to YouView’s programme guide as they expand this year.

Both broadband and TV providers are planning to add their subscription internet TV channels to the YouView Guide in the next few months.

They’ve asked Digital UK to double the ‘IP’ section of the YouView and Freeview HD channel listings from 100 channels to 200 channels, at numbers 400-599.

BT adds 21 internet TV channels to the YouView Guide

By Alex Lane on Friday, 9th August 2013

BT has added 21 live streaming internet TV channels to the YouView guide as it beefs up its pay-TV offering.

The new entertainment and documentary channels went live on August 1 when BT Sport launched, but were only available through the BT Player.

BT Youview need to add a few kids channels - and Sky Sports 1&2 (when allowed to) before it's what I would call a well rounded package. Progress is slow.

TalkTalk YouView already had about 60 streamed channels in the TalkTalk Player (a typical Sky package, as it happens) and they added about a dozen Asian channels earlier this week (at least that was when I found them). These, presumably will move across to the main EPG when the update comes through. I wonder what will be left in the TalkTalk Player. On demand stuff, I suppose.

I have looked at the "news stories" on recombu. just like all the others, this one if factually incorrect too.

Live TV Streaming was never available via the BT Vision app.

its like a five year old had read a press release from sky 3 weeks ago and today is asked to rewrite the information she remembered.
