It's exactly a year since this thread was started...

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1713198

The question was asked whether people liked Marlon and Laurel as a couple. Over 200 people voted, 80% (163 votes) voted NO while just 20% (40 votes) voted YES.

I thought it would be interesting to see if anything has changed after a full year. Have people grown to love Marlon & Laurel? Do they make perfect sense as a couple now? Were we won over by everything their love had to overcome?

Do you like Marlon and Laurel as a couple? VOTE!

Yes
No

No. They're horrible! Even a year later I still cringe when I see them onscreen together. Ugh.

I think we can safely say that I'll be voting 'no - hate them!'

A big NO from me, i cannot stand them as a couple and the pairing has completely runied Laurel for me too. She was once one of my favoured characters but now i couldnt care less what happens to her.

The poll result is going to be pretty much a whitewash isn't it?

Could Maurel be the most unpopular couple in soap history?

Still terrible one year one. The worst pairing I can ever recall in Emmerdale. Laurel used to be a lovely likeable character, but since they lumbered her with Moron she's got progressively worse over time and is just a horrible whiny selfish character now. It's such a shame because she was really good in the Sally Spode storyline and also when Daniel died..... now she's stuck in this ridiculous relationship with an equally ridiculous character. I didn't used to mind Marlon either in the past but now I can't stand him.

Well, I did vote "No" but actually on second thoughts if they're going to be in it, they're better off together BECAUSE they're both totally useless so at least we don't have one of them with someone that is actually a decent, credible and well-acted character, thereby 'spoiling' said character. They're both such morons, I sort of think they deserve each other to be honest

I know Laurel didn't used to be a whinging, selfish, skiving moron of a person but I'd find it hard to accept if they did actually change her for the better now, so if she has to be there she may as well be with Moron. That way I can get the pleasure of watching them together and silently seething with hate

No. I used to like Laurel and Marlon was good as a comedy character with Paddy but they're both now unbearable. Hopefully the writers will take a leaf out of Willy Shakespeare's book and kill off these two "star-crossed lovers".

I think this poll will be even more one-sided than a Zimbabwean election!

While they are both annoying I think they're better off together.

This. I think too much damage has been done to both characters to pair them off anywhere else. I think Laurels character has been damaged more than Marlons though.

EDIT: So why I don't neccessarily like them together I have voted Yes for my reasons stated above - too much damage done.

Yes I don't even think I will bother watching tonights episodes because it has all to do with Laurel and the carjacker.

Next week looks very interesting with Gennie's funeral

The most unlikely pairing ever, I loved Ashley and Laurel and Sandy and the children, a really nice family. Hate this present rubbish, it's too late now to change it back.

But the downside to that would be we would have to suffer months and months of 'Sad Marlon'
