Today i was wondering wether the sudden announcement of Capaldi was coincidence or wether it was announced so viewers don't get confused if he was in the 50th.

So i went on imbd to see the cast and came across this.

with his name in the credits, can this be edited by anyone or will he be in the 50th?

imdb can indeed be edited by anyone, so isn't a good source for casting details.

That said, it wouldn't surprise me if he was given a look-in in the Fiftieth. So much of the filming has been done behind closed doors they could definitely get him in for a cameo, or even a substantial role like Oswin had in Asylum. What a way to introduce your new Doctor...maybe have him appear to Clara who doesn't realise who he is until he regenerates at Christmas

I am 100% confident that Capaldi is not in the anniversary special. imbd can be edited by anyone. The BBC when talking about news of the casting mentioned he will be filming his first scenes in the autumn. Also they probably didn't finalise the casting when the 50th anniversary was shooting let alone having the time to choose his costume and the style of doctor that he will play.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was. Be a perfect way to introduce the Past, Present and Future doctors.

I didn't for a second we would see the 12th Doctor in the 50th.

Now I do wonder.

Not saying yay or nay but having had his head shaved for his next role would Matt have to revert to wearing a wig to film the Christmas Special ?

Still think the regenration will take place at the end of the 50th and Matt will not be involved in the christmas special. Where are they going to get a wig to match his mad hair ?

They could just have him say, "I have a shaved head now, shaved heads are cool!"

Matt doesn't need a wig. By the time they shoot the Christmas episode his hair won't be much shorter than normal.

Sure about that? If Capaldi starts filming soon, the Christmas special clearly does too. His hair is growing out, but not fast enough not to need a wig or an explanation.
