Is it just me?!! Seriously reminding me of Brookside in the final years before it was axed, with all of the far fetched storylines!! I'm considering switching off!!

I really enjoyed the Silas storyline but now we have Will and Dr Browning?! How unlucky can one village be?! Love the McQueens and will be gutted if they actually kill Myra! Why can't they kill Leanne or Sienna or that entire new family who are seriously rubbish!! Or Patrick Blake!! (Shudder) so bad!!

Love Ste, another great character. Hate his current storyline as its boring and predictable.

Love Nancy, probably my favourite character of all time but like Ste's storyline it's just utter rubbish, badly written and predictable.

Love the recent scenes between Tony and Cindy. Probably the only reason I'm still watching to be honest. Diane is awesome too!!

What do you guys think about the show at the moment?

I think it's brilliant at the moment, and I think they've recovered really well from the likes of the huge characters that are Brendan, Mitzeee and Jacqui leaving. The Roscoe family are great additions, although they are a little overbearing when they are all together, Lindsey and Freddie are my favourites, which is surprising as I thought I'd like him the least.

Yes the storylines are over the top and sometimes ridiculous but that's what makes it so gripping and entertaining. Darren/Nancy/Sienna, Sinead's prostitution, Tony's cancer and the recent Pauline/Ste storylines have all been fantastic and I also am enjoying the fact it's a mixture of older and newer characters at the forefront rather than a teen overload. The only things I'm not really enjoying are Vincent and the whole Browning saga but yeah I believe it's on top form.

It's brilliant at the moment and loads of people are enjoying it. If you don't like it just switch off like you said you feel like doing.

Loved Brendan, Mitzee and Jacquii!! Shame when such big characters leave. I loved the scenes between Tony and Cindy. Really moving. Want to know how Kurt Benson is returning too!!

Overall it's better now than it has been for years. I do think there are too many dramatic storylines but all soaps are the same. All these small communities seem inflicted by rapist and murderers in extreme quanitites.

Its in great shape, granted the Browning crap is grating and the only turn off for me but otherwise its been really good.

Ste's storyline with his mother was fantastic, very emotional and no doubt Tony's storyline will be.

Ho is the best place its been for years.

lol it's true!! Did like the Silas storyline but wished he'd wrapped Will up in one of his dirty old carpets!! (And Dodger and the dull sister!!) Dr Browining is fine but he can't be allowed to kill Myra!! On a positive note I love Sinead too!!

I've heard people talking about Hollyoaks whom I've never heard talk about it before, so that's a good sign.

I can't judge it as I've not been watching it - I've gone off it completely!
But 2009 was a MUCH worse year than this one, in fact I can't even remember 2009

There is more to Hollyoaks than Brendan and Silas.

Ste and Mother scene was very moving, made me go all emotional and tingly inside!
Hollyoaks has been best non stop for the last few months or so, even the filler episodes are great!
They promised us an action packed Summer, this is it!

I find the Roscoes cringe-worthy and dull as dishwater, Browning and Mercy stuff awful, Patrick and Maxine silly, George, Pheobe and other guy uninteresting and forgetful, Sienna and Nancy stuff out of place and strange for Darren.
I do like Tonys cancer and Ste's stuff (although i don't care his sister arriving) however i think he should leave after this stuff with his mother ends.
Its kinda average.

That's pretty much how I feel SMIDSYmk2!!
I can't stand the Roscoes!! I'm tempted to just forward through their scenes to be honest. Maybe Patrick will be the next serial killer! There must be some of Silas' old carpets behind the Dog or somewhere!!

Not as good as Brookside at it's peak but is still much better than EastEnders at the moment. My mum even loves it now. Before she hated and couldn't even be in the room when it was on, but now she likes it even more than me

Also, if I wanted to watch people yaking down a pub, there's one on my street corner. It's supposed to be OTT, it's a soap opera

I think the show's fantastic at the moment and there is so much going on. So far I've enjoyed 2013 almost as much as the early days and 2007 - 2008. I do miss Brendan a lot though, but I'm surprised just how well the show is doing without him as a lot of people thought it wouldn't be the same once he'd gone. Bryan Kirkwood's second era in Hollyoaks looks like it's going to be as great as the first.
