selling o2 sims

If i were to receive the o2 sims often given out free from their site would the numbers be actually recorded under my name & address. i was thinking that, that would be unlikely but if i were to give the sims away as the O2 website claims (about giving them to friends) and the person used them without registering but just topping up, and later got involved in illegal activities with the phone & sim would the sim be traced back to me. this is a concern to those selling them on auction sites in particular.a bit paranoid but worth asking about. thanks

You need to register the SIMs, and they are offered to be given to other people.

The people I have given them to, then register them.

Though I am sure O2 could keep a list somewhere of what numbers got posted to what address, or they may just randomly stuff envelopes with SIMs, but the SIMs are not physically registered to you on their system, they aren't registered to anyone. Now if they did have a record, and they were contacted by the police, you just tell them you sold them on, maybe worth keeping details of who you posted them too (which you are allowed to do, under data protection).

I opened one of my free sims before i sold any (total sold:1 -everyone knows they are free) and it didnt recieve any messages with registration stuff like my paid 02online sim did(i didnt no about the free ones then).
Shame you cant use gprs with £0.00 with 02. You can with vodafone. Well, you could about july last year, then i moved to o2.
