Just email them saying your computer was playing up and can they reset it. Don't say anything to make them question it... keep it simple and they'll reset it straight away.

We’ve been testing an HD, 4500kbps stream for the last few weeks and it’s looking really good so it’s time to roll it out on some live games. We’re going to start it this weekend on the web and iPad players, so if you notice things looking a little different then that’s likely what you’re seeing. If you have any problems with the new stream, please let us know on 0800 PL PASS so we can make any necessary adjustments.

You can jump back down to your normal stream at any time using the video quality drop box next to the Volume control on the web player, while it looks to us like the adaptive streaming feature should work to keep things smooth on the iPad.

If you’re concerned about your data caps, a full game at 4500 should be about 3GB, so if that’s a problem manually drop your stream or talk to our friends at Telecom about upping your limit.

Thanks,

PLP”

Interested to know if you've noticed a difference in quality yet?

Yeah I presume Overplay is having a bad day. Had to refresh a few times so far.

Been trying to watch the FA Cup game on 11 (although the EPG says it should be a Scottish match!) but it keeps freezing. Using a DNS service which isn't Overplay.

Mines been fine overall, definitely not something that's keeping me from watching the match. Just keep with it and it should sort itself out. Not had to refresh mine for a good half an hour now so it looks to be sorted.

There has got to be something at the Al Jaz local end forcing some sort of throttle that the DNS servers just can't cope with - that's the only reason I can think of. It's crazy how some days it's crystal clear and runs smooth as anything but then other days it's up and down.

It's bugged, it has been like that since this morning.

They've changed their name but their service remains utter shit. And this has nothing to do with them smartdns providers.

People really do need to get these ideas out of their head. The beIN SPORTS (and AJS before it) website is delivered by one of the biggest media agencies in the world - AJ don't do it themselves. They've won awards in the Middle East for the quality of the content and streams! The same company ran the ADMC website and also runs websites and content for BBC, BT Vision, ESPN, CBS, Fox Sports, Fox Soccer 2Go US streaming site, ITV, Setanta Sports, Sky Germany, SuperSport South Africa, Network Ten Australia, TV2 Norway and Virgin Media.

It's as far removed from a small time operation as you can get... and it is to do with methods DNS providers use! A company the size of the Al Jazeera Network employing such a large scale company to run their sites is not going to offer crappy streams... sorry but I don't subscribe to the theory of it being poor quality at source!

This same company also owns the likes of www.premierleague.com!

If that is the case and i have no reason to doubt that its not people should just give up on beinsports because there just going to be throwing good money after bad in the pointless effort of getting reliability. Its simply not going to happen unless you move to the Middle East or North Africa I would not be surprised if all of these dns and servers are routing through the same company and clearly they just can not cope with the demand, unless these companies start routing via different countries and server i dont think its ever going to improve

You can see for yourself here at the agency employed to run the beIN sites: http://www.performgroup.co.uk/AllPartnersAndCaseStudies

I think you'll be surprised at the amount of high profile partners they run websites and content for. If this isn't proof enough that it's a high profile business and problem free in the Middle East then I don't know what is.

Fact is, like you suggest, people are either going to have to live with the quality of the streams coming through DNS services because I doubt they're going to ever improve beyond the quality we already receive, or they're going to have to move to the Middle East to receive it how it's meant to be.

Mate I see your point but honestly I doubt that it was smartdns's fault if channel #12 was bugged all day long with the same basketball game going over and over.

Also I use smartdns to access a number of different services such as Hulu, Netflix etc and never had problems like I do with AJS.
