Well, after being smug about my flawless Bein connection, my VPN service has let me know and the server I have been using is offline! First issue since August last year. Fired up another server and I'm right back in!! Might have to do some explaining to bein support though!

We all know the alternatives. I'll give you about 6 hours before you're booted out!
Name me some alternatives please mate

Not going to happen the member likes to keep there options close to his or her chest but according to them there are loads of vpn`s that work but didn`t give specifics.I personally tried hidemyass but it was far to slow for a reliable stream.

Thanks for responding on my behalf incorrectly. I'm not going to mention the alternative because it's not legal. The new member was clearly referencing a non legal way of gaining sky and bt.

I haven't mentioned the service I use to access bein because I don't want to. That's it. I found it on google so others can quite easily.

My apologies, nothing. Now what's this alternative that gives us all the BT and sky channels?

In my experience it only works when there is no big events on like premier league football as soon as there is it goes to pot and its very unstable to say the least.

Iam not going to advertise it to the unknowing members as i don`t you want people to waste there money.

The only thing that's changed is the name of the service... they've not made access any more secure in order to show the Premier League they're keeping their part of the agreement so it was obvious they'd only have one 3pm live.

Until they make online access available only to those with a STB and paired viewing card, I really can't see how they'll convince the Premier League to reinstate the extra games in the contract.

For the first time (for me) this season the Man Utd game is flawless. Absolutely brilliant using Smart DNS.

Hope this is the sign of things to come!

I'm inclined to believe this as it matches what I am seeing. I'd imagine the big games put a huge strain on the streams.

Streams have been perfect today but not the most attractive games on.

I don't think the issues are DNS provider related. Once you have passed the geoblock I don't think they are relevant any longer.
The AJS android app was littered with terrible reviews written in Arabic which I assume means they are somewhere in MENA.

Let's not go over old ground again. Each person will believe what the want to believe. I myself, have no doubts that with the company employed to stream all Al Jazeera content and with the class-A rights involved that this service is (as reported online) flawless in the MENA region.

With exclusive coverage spanning 23 MENA countries and an estimated customer base now spanning into the millions, Al Jazeera is intent on proving itself as the leading MENA sports broadcaster, and to a wider extent, its owners - the Qatari government - use it as their own tool to exercise their strengths through sports and media - with the Premier League being their jewel in the crown.

I must sound like a walking talking advert for Al Jazeera but I can't believe that people still insist any problems stem from their end.

That would still make them far smaller than the Sky Sports subscriber base who struggle to provide a decent stream on Sky Go for big matches. Factor in most Sky Sports users would watch via satellite and you realise that BeIN would need a far superior infrastructure to deliver their service.

It is early days so I expect the service to improve as they get a better handle on the streaming requirements.

Al Jazeera is far smaller than Sky Sports in terms of subscriber numbers (anywhere between 3.5-4m fewer sports subscribers). Sky might bang on about their Sky Go service but I personally think they make all of their extras as thin on the ground as possible in order to keep their foothold in the TV market. They don't offer HD streams either... no reason why they can't.

Most beIN Sport users also watch via satellite - this notion that they've got millions upon millions of subscribers is wrong. They cover a wide geographical area but subscriber wise, they've got minimal strain on their servers at weekends, even if the biggest match of the PL season was being played at the time. The majority of beIN/AJS subscribers watch via Nilesat.

Their service is absolutely fine - award winning in fact.

Surely minimal strain is relative. It depends on what their infrastructure was built to handle.

Maybe they hadn't accounted for a large number of UK subscribers who would all be using their internet service.

Either way, I can't see why a "Smart DNS" type service would be any worse than a normal service once the stream has initiated. It's not as if repeated location requests are sent during streaming. You either pass the geotest or you don't.

Nobody knows what measures AJ take at their end to restrict access to DNS/VPN services. A lot of the services can't get past the first hurdle. The ones that do get past some weeks are fine and some weeks are unwatchable.

Last year when they took the rights off ADMC, it was estimated that their subscriber base was at 2.5m. Even with the addition of the PL, I can't see that being anywhere near 3m now so the additional numbers they have added will hardly shatter the system from beforehand.

The PL are very particular with who, how, when, where etc. An entire region the size of AJ with huge outlay on Arabic and English coverage - fairly high end punditry etc to then have it unwatchable from within the MENA region? Doesn't sit with me.
