Check out the reviews of their Android app. All of the recent reviews in Arabic are one star. I know personally it works on Android 4.1.1 but fails miserably on higher versions. |

Should it? I've had problems recently using a site like YouTube telling me that my Flash plugin needed updating. Is it such a hard task to keep your system up to date in order to get a good service? I don't think so really.
As for the rest of your post, I'm sick of going over the same ground. You're entitled to think whatever you want. Subscribe, unsubscribe, do whatever. Once this thread finally starts getting somewhere and we begin to have some reasonable and knowledgable discussion to get somewhere, it's pulled back down to square one with posts like this. |

I'm not sure what you expect from this thread. We are all having issues with BeIN and are just looking for ways to get the best out of it (apart from you it seems).
And the "(apart from you it seems)" bit is incorrect too. I don't seem to have anywhere near as many problems as some posters... and I'm not the only one! |

I never claimed BeIN was providing a poor service as they hadn't tested it on a UK based ISP.
It works fine for me too most of the time. The problem is that you just can't rely on it and for a paid service it should be almost 100% reliable (and that includes their Android app ).

I agree you can't expect the service to work if you are outside their target region.
In saying that, the Android app reviews confirm that it is pretty poor in the MENA region. There is no evidence either way on the quality of the browser streams in MENA. Recent evidence suggests that quality is not related to actual location but more configuration (browser choice, cache, flash player version) |

Recent evidence suggests that quality is not related to actual location but more configuration (browser choice, cache, flash player version) There is evidence of quality of browser streams from with the MENA region and you can either choose to acknowledge them or ignore them.. up to you. As stated, Al Jazeera, along with it's digital partner Perform, have won prestigious industry awards in the region, most notably for "Best Sports Website" for their online streaming service, "Content Service Award", "Best iPhone App" and "Best Tablet App". There are also forums and pages out there commenting on the quality of the service from both people within the region and people giving reviews on the service in general if you know where to look. The Internet is a big place! The quality is related to how the data from the beIN servers is being treated once it's routed through to us by the middle man (DNS/VPN) and our ISP. There is no set method for how this is done - each ISP is different. TBH, provided I've always flushed my cache and kept my system up to date I've had minimal to no problems, even when people are on here reporting poor service. If the service was so bad at source, we'd all have the same issues but that's not the case - it's entirely dependent on how your particular set-up is receiving the data and what your network is doing with it. |

The live button is back which normal indicates that there is an issue and the channels is showing something from J TV the satellite feed is showing Iran but to begin with it was fixed it lasted for less than 5 minute. It seems to me that they continue to have issues with this channel an it begs the question if they can issues with one channel why not others. For me Bein (formerly AJS) works great probably 80-90% of the time.
I gave up on the dns providers a few months ago. The VPN I use has quite a few mena servers, I have to plan ahead when I want to watch a game and using speedtest.net find one with a ping of around 100ms or less and a download speed of around 3.5Mbps, once a server fitting that criterea is found I'll log into Bein, stay on it all day to avoid account abuse lockouts and apart from the occassional temporary drop in quality it will work fine for the 80-90% of the time I said. Interestingly last weekend I found my NBC Sports backup had finally got wise to the free option of using Hola and I had to go through the exact same procedures with my VPN to get that working properly, so I'd say those complaining about a paid service not working are barking up the wrong tree, they work where they're meant to work but its a hassle and a half to get them working correctly outside of their regions! |

On the other hand, their service is often plagued with problems that have NOTHING to do with the geolocation, for example this channel 12 crap that has been going on for weeks now or back when their player was bugged and would eat up all your cpu power no matter what (took then 1 week to figure it out and switch player version). Before this I was subscribed to an italian tv provider which did include a streaming service, similar to skygo, used it for years and never had this kind of issues.. |

I have been using AJS since the end of july (I subscribed before the "cataclysm" that happened on 1st August, and therefore my subscription will not run out in may but in july - also paid much less than what it costs now because originally the subscription included only 10sd and 2 hd channels) and rarely have I had any problem.

I've still not got round to finding anything out about channel 12 but what on earth are you going to moan about when that's not an issue anymore? Considering the amount of programming you watch on 12 must be minimal to non-existent, you love moaning about it for the sake of it when everything else from that service works just fine!! Have you ever thought you didn't have issues because... you're in Italy? Just a thought. In a way, I can't wait for your beIN subscription to expire just so you can't moan anymore. |

I am not moaning, I am just stating the facts. And the fact that I do not live in the MENA region has nothing to do with the issues that I described (their player being crap from time to time - for example the high cpu usage issue which affected EVERYONE on this board a few months back and was most definitely not related to our geolocation - and the channel 12 being bugged). I personally rarely watch it (then again, yesterday night they were broacasting the Miami Heat basketball game over there and I couldn't watch it live) but I am sure that there're plenty of ppl interested in watching the rugby Six Nations tournament which will be broadcast entirely on chan 12. |

Promo-only, we get it. You love BeIN sports and they can do no wrong.
No need to attack other posters when they are just sharing their experiences which I personally find very useful. |

I won't sit here while people slag off a really good service and pan it for having widespread issues that not everybody is affected by. The service I pay for is incredibly good value for money and other users are insistent on picking up on single issues and running with them, seemingly for the hell of it. |

What? the channel 12 issue affected everyone and so did the high cpu usage issue.. Now, go check this post http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...postcount=2003 I'll quote it here as well in case you don't want to click the link Quote:
I am out in Saudi Arabia so don't need a VPN and I have a fully paid up subscription to AJS which has now been cancelled
Have given up today the quality of the stream and the break up of picture unwatchable this has been going on for too long now Went back to alternative online streams and have watched all games I wanted in perfect quality The joke is with AJS you have to refresh that often then they suspend your log in for too many log ins ........its like someones idea of a bad joke . So it is as bad out here where its officially available as anywhere else |
