Hi
Looking for some advice. My brother is having a nightmare to get al Jazeera to work. He managed to register last night but had to download both full overplay vpn and smart dns because he wasn't able to register on al Jazeera just using smart dns (geoblocked)
he has got it to work fine thru the full vpn but the picture quality is poor as to be expected. He cant get onto AJS using smart dns, it says he is connected (green button) but is getting geoblocked all of the time. When he checks his ip address using that 'whatsmyipaddress' site it shows his old one but when he checks it on his pc it matches overplays!?! He downloaded all the software from the overplay site......anyone know what's going on. Even the live help is struggling with this problem

Try Safari, fi it it still stutters, try change your pc's or laptops resolution to 720p and then again with safari. Any diffrence, or its just me?

Just send email to AJS support team, the link is coming after you are trying to log in, but "login attempts exeeded" Message is shown, in that page there is link for "send message " and after sending message about login problems, usually they reset your acount in 5minutes....Vola and working again.
I haven't attempted to login yet just incase it triggers a longer lock out or something. Do they usually email you or it just works after 5mins? I contacted them last night uk time but no reply yet. Hope its fixed before kick off!!

I tried Firefox with the free channel which was smooth. That's not in hd tho which is prob when stuttering would occur. I'm not sure how I can test things if they lock you out

Have you followed the guide from www.watchjsc.com?

Also try this www.overplay.net/t you should get a green tick with something saying successful

You may just need to flush the DNS if that the case which can be done like this;

That was my main reason as well so I'm hoping that the app has taken so long because they wanted it to be perfect on release....unlikely, I know. They told me that the app would only show one match though, which I'm not surprised about. Even one match would be good at the moment . Southampton fan here so other options tend to be very limited.

Yes, I'm in the UK and on Geekzone as well. They are clearly disappointed in NZ as they are dropping from Sky HD quality down to.....whatever we get tomorrow. Whereas we are grateful to get anything at 3pm at all.

Once again, I haven't tried iSwifter but the reviews seem to say it all .

Graham
When you said the app was going to show only one game, I first thought you meant, just one game, like maybe 1 3pm game and that's it, as if it was a channel but then realised you mean it won't be picture in picture like you get with Flash.

Again this morning, I've tried Photon on my iPad and iPhone and it isn't too bad at all, though I see what you mean about the picture being stretched. I can live with that and the odd button on the screen too.

Just like you, I go for the quantity of games over quality. I am not fussed if they are not in HD, so long as I have the choice of being able to see my team, then after that, the choice of any game. We are lucky to be able to get access to these streams, doing it all above board too.

I had to keep an eye out for a while on what online options there would be as that's just the way it is all going now. Shame there's not much use for my motorised satellite system now. Quality was much better of course but with most channels being European and there being limited 3pm games televised via satellite across Europe now, finding a package from outside of Europe is the only hope.

Either way now, I shall be spoilt for choice come 3pm. Aim is to have Everton on AJS on the big screen, then what I might do is have my iPad out, with 4 games split screen. See how the broadband handles that!

My best setup for smooth streaming is waterfox 64bit browser (win 7 64bit). Very cpu and memory friendly setup. Actually better with full screen than window mode. Testing also PLP this afternoon, also with EVERTON! Coyb!

I know everyone else uses Overplay, but I couldn't get it work either for the same reasons. I use UnoTelly DNS - its the same price - and that works flawlessly for me.

I am subscribed to overplay smart dns service and it has been working fine so far (signed up to Al Jazeera sport, works for netflix, downloaded ajs iOS app). Following some of the above posts and trying to watch on ipad through photon browser and I keep getting a geoblocked message whenever I try to watch a video on ajs website.

For those successfully watching on photon on iPad, do you know how to get around this?

I'm also getting a geo block via the iPad - both the app and via Photon. I used Photon with premierleaguepass earlier and it was working great, even the picture in picture options were working.
My android app wasn't working well with AJS either. I'll give AJS a look via my android browser.

I've managed to get into the app fine, it's just that without the update it doesn't have the HD channels yet, and so I was thinking that through the photon browser would be best for this weekend seemingly before the app update is with us. But playing videos in the browser seems to be the only thing geoblocked, if I sign out and go to the subscription page again the it lets me access that fine suggesting dns is working??? Strange!

I know, I watched the England game midweek via the iPad app and it was fine. My browser stream via my android tablet works fine. Let's see what happens at 3pm

And now I'm in that boat too. Yesterday I got steady 500kb/s, now its steady 320kb/s. Quality is almost the same though, maybe they were testing that new bitrate for a while.

Just got a Google Chromecast HDMI dongle.
Connects to HDMI on TV and let's you stream to tv directly from PC wireless.
Works nice.
Its quite new , these are sold out . were 35$ on release . got one of eBay for 70$ .
Just Google it
do you lose any quality compared to your laptop?

Thanks. Waterfox seems smoother so far. Not sure how audio 1 and 2 work though it doesn't seem to do anything for the pre match talk audio. Im guessing it's only for match commentary?

What browser are you using?

Mine seems fine except gets a "tiny" bit of lag when the camera is moving quickly. I'm using chrome on Win8 64bit

Thanks for the recommendation. Waterfox seems pretty good here as well. Fingers crossed for the Liverpool match now on PLP. It'll make a change to watch something other than Spurs -v- South China .

Fair enough. Can't really argue with the price I was paying to Sky
