IE was worse for me. What's odd is that some streams were smooth- the spurs replay on there for example. The united Southampton game is awful though. Really juddery. It's not my spec. At all.

Try the tips here. They can really improve video quality...

Signed up to the taiwan package, $5 a month one, works out the same. Tested it on my ipad using dns and watch recaps and reviews from last season and airplayed it to apple tv. Worked perfectly for me and quality was same as last season.

Anyone tried the PLP app for Samsung TV's?

When registering for PLP, I had to put my correct address in as putting a Taiwan address wouldn't allow payment through due to mismatch with billing address. Is this correct?

I've tried their catch-up content on a 22" F-5470 model (a rather low end test TV) and at the time found the picture to be really jerky. I was not sure if this was to do with the TV being too low end, the 25fps limitation or a problem at the time (it was after the season ended).

I'll be testing this again soon.

My only concern is now that the secret is out to getting cheaper subs will they not notice a surge in Taiwan subscriptions and payments made with UK debit cards

Uk subs must make up about 1% of the whole, surely! It's minimal and they just won't care

Yes they will.

Remember, PLP is not a giant company like Sky. They spent a fortune buying the rights to the EPL to market it in a country where "soccer" is really just a game for expat Brits - so it's not a big market, in a very small country.

It may be one thing for people outside of their market to buy from Taiwan to save money, people who normally wouldn't be buying officially anyway, but now that everyone is starting to talk about it online, they stand a really serious chance of New Zealand customers buying from Taiwan.

This could cause them serious financial problems, and a company is going to act very differently from a] when people add to their sales by buying overseas, to b] when their local market dwindles and they start making losses.

What do you think they will most likely do?

You know how it goes... everything works fine until people start taking the piss. It is one thing to buy a PLP sub from another country like the UK which helps support the company, to buying from a cheaper source which will make them lose money.

This might have been covered already, but is it possible to watch PLP with Unotelly using a NOW tv box? I've got a box I simply won't use, may as well take advantage if I can.

If you play the spurs v stoke game- perfectly smooth, like normal telly. If you play either arsenal or united games- judder!! Someone confirm this for me! It's driving me mad!

I believe Chrome doesn't fully support Flash, and it uses PepperFlash (I think it's called) instead which clearly doesn't work as well.

This was a fantastic find, by the way. Thank you for sharing and let's hope the loophole isn't closed any time soon!

As usual, ovbg, you make good points on the subject. I'm inclined to think, however, that the number of people aware of this loophole and technologically able to take advantage of it is still very small - even compared to the small population of NZ.

It can't be closed as it's not a loophole! You are just signing up from Taiwan instead of NZ!!

I mean it could be closed in the sense that accounts opened that way could be revoked or blocked, or whatever. I would think it unlikely but we saw Al Jazeera fight back a little last year.

Yeah that was it I've followed http://nusofthq.com/blog/how-to-disa...-flash-plugin/ to disable the PepperFlash (supposed to be more secure) and installed and enabled the Adobe flash. Now chrome plays the streams without problems.
