I've tried astril VPN doesn't seem to work with either taiwan or phillipines

Load up the PLP page without your VPN on. This should direct you to the NZ page (assuming you already have a smart DNS service.) Then flick your VPN on, reload the page and hit "subscribe." That should do the trick.

Spot on mate worked a treat thanks , funny this as I was doing that I gets a tweet off PLP with a 20 % discount code , wonder if it works on the taiwan site

its the same website. its just that if you are in Taiwan, a different webpage is loaded for pricing. PLP New Zealand web pages cannot even be accessed without a smart DNS or VPN, so I believe even the Taiwan access is a loophole.

Beinsport MENA is tempting too. They show quite a lot of leagues and boxing matches which sky place on sky box office. What I like about beinsports is that it's a 24 hr satellite TV network like SKY whereas PLP and starsports only stream when premier league games are on live.

hmm interesting. I thought as much that the broadcast rights fee for New Zealand is miles lower than that of other territories.

It's a much smaller market, so that makes perfect sense... no surprises there.
If the market was bigger, the fee paid to the PL would be bigger, because there would be more demand and Sky NZ would have (probably) bid more, as would PLP if they wanted to secure them... Simple economics.

PLP have offered a code to people who had accounts last year. They set the criteria as to who would be eligible will (almost certainly) have calculated this in their business models.

As for us (the Digital Spy crew) signing up to the Taiwanese sub as a posed to the NZ sub, that's still additional income to PLP. Last year, very, very few people from here subbed to PLP because it was (relatively speaking) expensive and an unknown quantity, so they'll be making more out of us, but still a very small amount.
PLP has paid $2.5m/3 years= $0.83m. That's about £500k per season. Without calculating for tax, fixed costs, etc. they need to sell 5000 full priced subs to break even, out a population of 4.5m... The only people who will "cost PLP money" are would be subscribers from NZ, who haven't subscribed already, and will discover the new Taiwanese/Philipino options and know how to use Hola/a VPN to access them... That number is TINY!!!

Let's all stop with this nonsense about them losing money. We're helping them, not making them lose money. The people who are losing in this scenario are BEin, as the general consensus appears to be that they are less favoured this season (so far.)

Will almost certainly be sorting out Unotelly and PLP-NZ during the midweek, should imagine plenty will. As for Taiwan, I think it's a bit too much of a gamble whereas we know NZ will work without problems.
