It was like this for the about the last 4 months of the season, HD1 and HD 11 will populate first showing the West Ham v Spurs game, the rest usually fill during the week ending any hope of more than 1 3pm

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if PLP geoblock us all the way that people are signing up via Hola now.

People just can't keep a good thing to themselves....
Probably have to inculde everyone whos posted in this thread.

PLP is already geoblocked. They are not going to block profiles based on UK card data as they will have legitimate expat subscribers in NZ and TW using UK cards.

They can however block certain VPN and SmartDNS IPs.

To be fair, i dont think they'll block anyone who signs up. It's the moment a person thinks its a good idea to put it in a pub with the PLP logo at the top, then when someone see's that, then we are fu*ked.

I think what he means is with a DNS service like Overplay he is able to view the website and is not geoblocked

Yes and that's my point that PLP is geoblocking and could in future block lookup requests from overplay's (or other) DNS servers.

My thoughts are that PLP are quite happy at the moment to let this ride as they are taking in more in subscription revenues. Anyone who thinks PLP don't know what is going on is deluding themselves. The two things that could scupper things is

1. They block smartdns and VPN servers at the start of the season, trapping people into annual subs.

2. The Premier League weighs in and forces their hand. I see this as unlikely unless commerical premises start to use the service.

Hopefully for those with subscriptions of course is that neither of the above happens. I mearly point out that with the right inclination, it can be easily stopped.

Bein suddenly became geolocked just before the 3pm Championship game last weekend. They could get tough around the big kick offs and then ease off other times effectively rendering the service useless for the times people want to watch the most. Same with PLP.

They will have all their subs in the bank anyway.

I would not worry about geoblocking to much the companies who offer the these services are accustomed to getting around it

The Premier League's anti-piracy rules only cover commercial premises - viewing in the home has always has a blind eye turned to it. As it stands, the vast majority of licensed premises use satellite as their main delivery method because simply put, streaming using a DNS/VPN service is too risky in a full house - at least with a steady satellite stream they know what they're getting.

With the right sized dish you can pick up virtually anything - provided the beam reaches the UK - but the Premier League have been very active in cutting off the supply at source. The main culprits were from mainland Europe and they've all been blocked from showing all but one 3pm kickoff.

Pairing cards with boxes can be worked around but it makes it that bit harder and provides an extra bit of security instead of a complete free-for-all. It at least limits the broadcasts to one box instead of it being able to be shared around.

They're not fighting a losing battle when it comes to satellite delivery - they've actually been pretty successful on that front. They're fighting a losing battle in the sense that selling 380 matches anywhere in the world will always see them being viewed in the UK but I have a feeling that future tenders will include a clause requiring a valid cable/satellite subscription in order to access the online stream - NBCUniversal being a prime example of a service that has hit every nail on the head for them since they took over from Fox.
as long as they provide the matches in any form then it will be exploited and on that front they are fighting a losing battle - its a bit like the war on drugs , no matter how much money they throw at trying to prevent it , it will never even touch the sides .
systems designed and built by man can equally be exploited by man .

I've looked at the last few pages and people seem to recommend Unotelly instead of Overplay so I will purchase a Unotelly account, to those who are using Unotelly for PLP, did you purchase Premium or Gold plan?

Also SmartDNS is faster than VPN for streaming?

All sorted, had them mixed round!

Also that's the latest PLP I can get my hands on. If you have the latest, which I am trying to get hold of then please let me know and i'll put it on the site.

Cheers

I second this one. Struggling to find a PLP apk anyway, let alone an updated one.
