Yes, and please, no-one mention them, or other similar services again.
Last time, this thread was a similar number of pages long and the mods deleted it because people started talking about illegal services.
Let's keep it "clean"

Yeah, I second that. This thread is too helpful to be ruined. To the poster- remove that post.

Is anyone using the Starsports app on an Android box?

Not StarSports, but if anyone is interested, I tested the PLP app on a Minux NEO X8-H and it worked absolutely fine - be it in 1600kbps as it is an Android stream.

And I've tested it on my Nexus 5 and also got the max 1600kbps.

Should be fine, however if you purchase the subscription from Apple it will only give you access to Star Sports via the ipad/iphone app. and does not include your PC. Something to do with the way the itunes store is set-up.

If you purchase via the main website you will get access to both. This is what I've done.

I think it's more StarSports behind this. I've got subs with Hulu Plus & Watchever (a German streaming service) that were both paid for via the Apple TV (and iTunes), and both of those can also be used on any other platform.

Is it just me, or do the Starsports highlight videos stutter a bit?

Maybe it's just the footie where they've imposed restrictions. All will be revealed on Saturday.

I have tested PLP on Minix Neo X5 which is running a custom ROM and always running at 1.4GHz connected via ethernet cable, I use Dolphin browser with desktop mode enabled and Adobe Flash installed via APK and I'm watching the 14-15 season preview at 3000kbps which is the same bitrate as using my HTPC

The HTPC is smoother than playing on the Neo X5 due to the specs, but it's better than 1600kbps that is limited via the app

I don't know why people bother with those cheap android mini pcs - they're utter crap. I really don't know why PLP is restricted to 1600kbps on android either, that makes zero sense.

Just a quick tip for PLP. If you use chrome and disable pepperflash on pc then switch your refresh rate to 25hz (create custom resolution if needed) then its pretty much tv smooth. Awesome thread.

I always read this thread with interest. I've been here for a year and a few things seem to have emerged over that time. By the way, I use overplay.
1. Bein Sports has an unbeatable line-up of live games and usually good quality streaming, but its service is very unreliable. Anyone looking back over last season will see that you can't depend on Bein. But when it works it is the best for coverage and analysis.
2. PLP, especially since the Taiwan option emerged, appears to be a tremendous option for EPL games. Let's see what the live streams are like, but it looks good at the moment.
3. Starsports is unbelievably cheap. If you wait a couple of minutes, a reasonable stream kicks in. However, overplay smart DNS doesn't work for India, so you have to use a VPN. I've tried unotelly on ipad and it's better. Are Bein, PLP and Starsports generally better on iPad apps? I also presume a lot of people think unotelly is a better option than overplay.

On this note, what's the best browser to watch PLP on? I'm using Chrome atm the moment and the streams don't play THAT smoothly, can be a bit stuttery etc even after I disable pepperflash (although my laptop monitor doesn't support 25hz apparently).
