No speculation about the premier league review shows. They do produce their own highlight shows and documentaries on premier league teams.. A lot of these are shown abroad. I've seen some on NBC Sports Network Live channel in the US.
What I don't seem to understand is PLP is streaming the premier league live feed for all games and NBC also stream the premier league live feed for some of the games since they can't air all the games on TV at once and only one game is shown on NBC SPORTS NETWORK at a time. They have only got one presenter and 2 studio analysts and link up with Gary Lineker in their studio in London for his analysis on the weekend games.I notice some of the other games not aired on their stations are aired online on Premier League Extra time within the app itself. These feeds are the same feeds shown on plp and they play smoothly. It baffles me really.
Yes actually I got the same stream on MOD (Taiwanese) last year. The thing that I don't know is whether these providers have separate encoding when they attach to the raw feed coming from the premier league. Not sure about that but it would make sense as different providers will want different formats.

Frankly though I don't like to speculate this too much, as I am really nowhere near an expert on live streaming and how stations deliver content.

The only PLP/IMG produced shows are the Preview, Review and World shows, and of course the extended highlights - these are the exact same ones that Sky use as part of their 'Football First' show every Saturday night, including the same world feed commentary too. Any documentary you've seen in the US will have been produced in-house by NBC, ESPN etc.

The Premier League Extra Time channels are available on TV too, they're not just for the app, so US viewers aren't restricted to app/online only, they just have to key in the appropriate numbers on the remote.

They're the same feeds shown on PLP because there is only one feed - it's the world feed. The pictures are identical on every broadcaster in the world, including Sky Sports and BT Sport. The only difference when a match is being broadcast in the UK is that the domestic broadcaster will produce their own coverage but all camerawork is identical the world over.

On Star Sports, is the pre/post match studio stuff just a generic feed from the PL for international broadcasters?

I noticed no branding in the studio.

It is yes, it's just referred to as 'PLTV', primarily goes out in Asia but can be seen in a few other countries like Canada too. Very few rights holders broadcast it though - they use their own instead.

The reason it has no branding is because the Premier League package it up as a complete 'off the shelf' product so any international rights holder can buy the rights and have everything from commentary to studio analysis provided for them if they wish to take it. Most rights holders use their own studio set-up with local recognisable talent though.

Thanks for that. I guess its why Star Sports are so cheap for the online service.

Do Star Sports broadcast Indian coverage in India on TV?

Was that via the star sports app? Did you get the studio stuff during half and full time through the app?

I don't think so, no. Think it's just the same feeds on Star Sports 2/4 & HD1 unless they offer a local off-tube commentary but I don't think they do. It's just cheap & cheerful.

It covers the whole of South Asia so I imagine they keep it simple instead of producing different coverage for each country/region they broadcast to.

There was a dedicated Viasat Premier League HD channel that was basically PLTV - it carried the 24/7 feed including 3 live matches etc. Not sure if they still run it now though since the clampdown began.

yes. Trans World International supply the world feeds. NBCSN do not produce any documentaries on the premier league. I recently saw a documentary on Arsenals visit to the states. All the branding on footage used was the same branding used for the world feeds on live soccer matches. Trans World international are based in the US though.

The world feeds are all the same but the individual broadcasters / streamers use their own equipment(in plp's case Neulion) to encode and in some cases convert from 25fps native to 30fps.

As I have been saying I really think this is where the problem lies with plp(Neulion are their providers who don't have a problem with either NFL Game Pass / NBA Game Time because theirs are not converted, they are native 30fps), there converters are not as sophisticated as other big corporations such as NBC (even there's are still as mushy looking without stutter).

There is another small streamer I won,t mention here that uses the same feeds and again are converted poorly and show the same stutter.

Simple answer is, they need to revert to 25fps or spend masses on new converters.

Update. Starsports have blocked my account!

Couldn't get it to stream anyway so nothing lost for $7. I wouldn't count on their service being available either.

^Wow nothing is left! lol

I convinced my house mate to use these services even after last season. Spent close £100 that's just two months of sky . Still not buying sky. You heard?

I'm going to refrain from discussing what works any more.

That's basically what it comes down to! If she hadn't have pushed it into the headlines there wouldn't have been anywhere near as much of a clampdown as we've seen.
Yeah we had it good!

Are you joking? Just tested and was able to watch a replay with no trouble. Are you sure your connected properly? Show a screen shot pls.

I've only had a streaming issue once with Star Sports. What service are you using?
