plp will either continue running smoothly for me or if they do suspend me, I'll get my money back, no question about that

Well you will be the first person to get their money back because having looked around on various forums nobody has managed to so far and believe me there's alot of people who have been suspended.

If you paid on CC you could do a charge back if your account is suspended.

Just an update.

After sending them an edited version of my long and detailed tests (see my previous posts), this morning I got a response from PLP like the other person in this thread.

He stated that they were aware of some people having issues but did say that they haven't experienced it themselves watching live. However, they did say that they would be altering their encoding process over the next few weeks.

He stated that today they would have a chat with the management about what changes may take place with the encoding and will update me following that. To be fair if it is reaching management level then there must have been more than a few complaints!

So I suppose it is watch this space at the moment!

Has anyone managed to speak to PLP regarding the potentially sneaky user issue?

Thats good new but they should be acting on it straight away not in a few weeks

Still not had the email yet, if i don't get it im putting it down to user error, i.e. opening the app when logged in and not using a DNS, or using multiple DNS services over a short period of time, for the record I used my real address, my real phone number and a UK debit card

Well to be fair I paraphrased it, from his sentence I am sure it means they will do an iterative process of changes and tests. He probably said a few weeks to lower expectations that it won't be absolutely spot on the first time.

Used PLP to watch the Liverpool and City game last weekend via Overplay. Used Taiwan payment method.

No account ban email yet.

Maybe the suspensions was a way of discouraging others from following down the same path. As I said earlier 'a shot across the bow.'

What I want to know is if anyone managed to use PLP last year for a long time?

I signed up on friday before the first weekend, watched 2 games, and I then read earlier that they suspended accounts, so I logged in, clicked on highlights and bam payment page, said expired. I had no email sent to me.

Entered live chat, and they refused to refund me, so now I have initiated a chargeback on my card, whether I am successful or not who knows.

Anyone wanting to use PLP I suggest only paying for a week or month, probably month as week is very bad value, dont pay for the year.

As to how they detecting people, I guess its obvious, the billing address. One cant even use the site unless they have a ip from the right country, so it wont be down to the ip address.

Unblock.us claim only a small % is affected.

I was using the NZ service.

PLP Login and subscriptions were down last night, all working again this morning

its not a technical issue my account is suspended, I asked them on live chat.

I will get my money back one way or another as I told the card provider I wont be paying that part of my balance.

The question is what is out there comparable to PLP that doesnt suspend accounts, I feel a bit annoyed people recommended PLP when they suspend accounts.

Nobody suggested PLP knowing that people would be banned! Obviously!

Any system, workaround or otherwise that gets mass abuse will be shut down eventually.

Satellite card sharing was around for years until it became public knowledge, now it's known about it's been driven to the point of uselessness.

Sopcast and TVants from Indian and Chinese streams were the next things to receive the same treatment.

You used to be able to get Sky Sports for free using the iPad app and cloned UUIDs, but again it became widely known about.

Now everyone is jumping on the VPN and SmartDNS bandwagon to get their cheap and free sport without realising that these services are already doomed (since about the second half of last season).

How easy is this to block? VERY easy.

VPN: 30-40 login requests from one (VPN Server) IP address is obviously not traffic coming from one person's household. Solution - Block requests from that IP address. Anyone who used the Netherlands hack to access free NFL Gamepass with HMA or similar will understand how this happened once public knowledge. If you have a less known provider or moreover you use a service that provides a STATIC IP unique to you, there is a better chance.

SmartDNS: Once a provider understands what's happening, this is also simple enough to block. Hence why there are some services that work with VPNs (that have yet to be blocked) but not SmartDNS. SmartDNS is more difficult to block, but with so few suppliers of the service, not particularly difficult.

At the end of the day, if you've got access to 3pm kickoffs then you are definately breaking the service's terms and conditions and potentially the law (i'm no legal expert). Realise you are lucky and keep it to yourself. Don't whinge if your picture is jumpy or fuzzy and certainly don't moan if your service is cut off altogether.

The sense of entitlement is amazing on this thread!

My personal opinion is that there should be a legal non-commercial subscription to watch 3pm kickoffs. Not everyone can afford match tickets or are too ill, too far away from their clubs. But this is not available yet and this has to be accepted or challenged in a legal way. You are NOT entitled to these now as it stands.

I totally agree that there should be a subscription available for people who can not afford to or unable to go the games but as the premier leagues policy is make as much money as they can out of sky,bt and the other tv providers its not going to happen anytime soon. They the premier league do not care about the fans its all about revenue stream and looking after there own interests

Agreed, and that's where it needs to change.

In the US, you can subscribe to see all your teams games legally for any sport, subject to some blackout rules.

You only need to look at the popularity of Netflix and Spotify to see that legalized services in those industries work very well.

Premier League is still in the dark ages and only serves to defeat itself rather than adapt to popular opinions.

I still see football as a sport. I also accept it's a multi billion pound industry.

I can see why they do it but shutting peoples accounts down really does them no favours in the end IMO. The people taking out this service are likely to have come from the free streams so getting any money from them is a plus. Driving them back to dodgy sources achieves nothing. They are unlikely to (if ever) race out to subscribe to Sky.

Netflix understand this, and so turn a blind eye on people accessing overseas libraries. Better to get £6 than nothing at all.

We live in a fast moving technically aware society and the sooner these companies realise this and offer what we want as consumers (instead of telling us) it can be beneficial to everyone.

Here here. There will always be a way though. Always. They just cannot stop the dodgy streams, it's not possible. They might block geo shifting but there are dozens of alternatives that are "underground"
