This all went a bit better than I'd thought it would. No, it's not a brilliant picture once the camera pans around but I'm used to watching a poorer quality, unreliable and advert-ridden stream. So I came at it with low expectations!
I'd pretty much agree with everything icebergx has said. The picture was smooth on the laptop and had some very minor stuttering on the TV but I suspect that has more to do with the scaling from PC to TV and could probably be improved upon with some playing around. The picture options of PIP and up to 4 screens is cool but probably not going to get used much here. My son would love it though

As has been said, you get the match and not a lot more but that's all I'm after. The stream was stable though. Maybe that's because they are mostly asleep in New Zealand at that time! It is nice to be able to watch the game when it suits you although most will still be glued to it at 3pm. The other plus is that the commentary is in nothing but English

.
I'd already signed up for PLP although I have a month's sub with AJS. If the PLP app works and AirPlays ok then I'll be ok with that and I can stop messing about trying to fine tune the laptop. Even better would be if they manage to get an Apple TV app sorted out.
They don't seem to be enforcing the one-time only viewing as I've dipped back into the Saints game several times since it finished
I'm going to the match next Saturday so I can have a week off from all these shenanigans
