Right, one week to go until the Champions a League starts.

I tried the browser version of Fox Soccer 2 Go last night for a couple of their on demand games and found there to be judder so that rules that out.

Is there anywhere that's going to be decent? Lol

Yes, they were showing them last year but none this season. I don't know if they've just lost the rights or it's part of their campaign to put off English people from using their service...?

I used the FS2G iPhone app, and Airplayed to my Apple TV... In general, the motion was OK (although there were a few stops during streaming) but the picture quality wasn't great. Without testing, it looked like 1500kbps at the most.

As a side note, with the app, you don't get anything other than the game itself. No pre-game, post-game, or even half-time analysis.

Strangely enough, they don't have the rights to show EURO 2016 qualifier games.
Probably lack of interest for those games, I'm not sure.

Quick question if I may, if I bought a 1.8m dish, box and card for bein sports would I be able to watch every single PL game?

Has anyone here side-loaded PremierLeaguePass on the Amazon Fire TV? If so, how is it doing and where can I find the APK, please?

Think the bein sports channels are starting to move to 25.5e which will be very large dish?

They can't win everything on offer. As far as I'm aware, they were just outbid fair and square by ADMC.

Depends where you're located etc. It would certainly make sense for them to migrate services to the 25.5e though. Even with a larger dish, there are still plenty of people only able to receive vertical channels with ease because the signal on those is stronger that the horizontals. 11HD just so happens to be horizontal so they are quite clever really... if it was intended to be like that anyway!

Told them the same thing as you did and managed to get a full refund (I had bought a season pass)
Too bad really, I loved their service but now it has become just useless.

What are the chances of them moving to 25.5e? I am in the UK and what I don't want to do is buy a system to find out it's going to be no good and waste the money. I am assuming that even with a 1.8m dish I won't get 25.5e?

They might, they might not. No one knows in the future, and it would be madness to pay a lot of money for a system that might be invalid in 18 months when the current rights come to an end.

If that happened, people would flood back to it and it'd be slow again

Had my first taste of the web player tonight (I usually use iOS) and it was pretty poor - quality jumping up and down. Personally I'm not too fussed about the language option though.

Did someone say that the "locals" were complaining about the player as well? Ie. it's not necessarily a DNS/VPN issue?

The locals were complaining on facebook because the new player is awful (but not for the quality of the streams).

Anyways, UnblockUS have now managed to fully unlock Beinsports, whereas the other DNS providers have not.

When using Unotelly, for example, the quality goes up and down.
Instead, with UnblockUS the quality says on HD, just like with the old player.

The problem is that the language button is no longer there. This might not be a problem for some people. but it is for me.
Keep in mind that the chan 11HD is blocked for the whole w/e basically (no, they are not going to show the EPL again on the internet). So most of the games are being shown on HD1-10 (especially german and italian football, which is what i follow the most)

Also, during CL nights, most matches will be in arab only. Sucks really.

I'm glad I got my refund. In the event that they add the language button again, I will subscribe, monthly this time.

Is there any way to check the bitrate of a video stream on an ipad app?

I use a PRTG server with a sensor measuring the traffic flowing through a Fritzbox port. PRTG is free (without support) and is a bit, well, techie... but it does a fab job. It can measure every bit of traffic going through a port, but make sure you only measure what you want to test - so you need to pause any other traffic.

It can measure any device in your home network, as long as it at some stage goes through the Fritzbox port you have it connected to.

Don't have a Fritzbox router? Not sure then...

lol, yes, except one slight problem... I'm currently upgrading the server where PRTG sits on, which should take no more than a couple of days.

I did test Bein about a month ago on the iPad, and had a rather disappointing 1930kbps average, but things may be quite different now.

Just hold on a bit, and I'll get PRTG back up and working soon...

Anyone else noticed that Monday nights prem game is advertised as being on bein connect? Just a mistake I imagine...

I just spoke to Unotelly about the beIN player issues and they suggested using the Seattle and Virginia DNS servers (maybe because the content servers are based in the US?), along with some other, more generic advice. I'll give it a go at the weekend to see if it makes any difference.
