Uno use a dynamic DNS which means it will make you appear in whatever country is required for the service you're using, it helps to avoid having to change DNS servers constantly.

Just make sure you pick your closest dynamic server and you will be fine.
My problem is when setting up it does not have any middle eastern countries to choose from

The live videos are working great with my iPad app using overplay.net smartdns now, quality is the same or higher than the PC browser based videos - it's very impressive how much content this opens up.
Really, quality same? Last night it wasnt. Have to check when im back at home. Too bad, that you cant change the audio with ipad app, but i pressume that 3pm games there is only 1-2 games with arabic and the rest of the 3pm games with english. Single games (1,30pm, 5.30pm, 8pm etc) i think there will be one channel showing with arabic and other channel with english. So hope we can live with the ipad app!

Just tested it now and it does indeed appear to work through Overplay. The quality looks pretty good on the big screen... yeap, I have no idea why, but AirPlay is working this morning!

Just in case it is me, maybe some other people want to check this.

You don't need to choose a Middle Eastern country. You pick the dynamic server closest to where you physically live.

About the same connection that most people seem to be getting regardless of their ISP but apparently HD has not been enabled yet.

Your transfer rate is - 304KB/s x 8 = 2432 Kbps...which is about on par with AJS' med-high setting.
Where did you hear about HD not being enabled? I thought 4000 went live? Seems like everyone is getting 300k tho.

I asked it yesterday. Answer was "very soon we will upgrade".

I have signed up to unotelly , but when your going through the installation it doesn't have any egypt or Al Jazeera dns , can someone enlighten me please
Thanks
You don't need to pick one I'm using the London dns on their sire, it tells you to pick one close to your location and it will still do the unblocking. Just find one on that map close to you and copy it into your settings and it will work

The only worry with that is that they only just seem to cope now, so how will the servers cope with a higher feed still.

There is a massive difference between 4000kbps and 300kbps. Let me put it this way, if you were watching a 300kbps feed, you wouldn't be able to spot the ball in all the pixelation.

If you want a good example of a 300kbps stream can be like, head on over to this news broadcast, and switch the quality of the stream to 322kbps. It's a tad higher, but select full screen and look how poor the video quality is.

The stream I'm seeing on the screen with Al Jazeera sport is enormously better.

Sorry if this is a stupid q - but when you mirror your iphone over airplay to a TV - does it mirror in full 16:9 or are there bars around either the top or sides?

Don't get mixed up with kilobits and kilobytes.

AJS High 2400kbps = 300kB/s
AJS "soon to be" High 4000kbps = 500kB/s
^^ your example of 322kbps = 40kB/s

Full screen.

Misinformation!!!

Try signing up for the free 8 day unotelly dns service worked better than overplay for me the picture is amazing
SmartDNS services ONLY re-route the packets of internet which check your location. THE QUALITY OF YOUR STREAM IS NOT AFFECTED BY WHICH SMARTDNS SERVICE YOU HAVE!
Overplay has the advantage of having more servers in more countries and being a larger company. It is more reliable and gives you access to New Zealand as well as other countries netflix etc.

Please read what i and others have said about the difference between 300kbps and 300kbs
Remember there are 8 bites in a byte
So 300kbs = 2400 kbps
and 4000kbps = 500kbs

Hi - how did you manage to get the audio working? I still can't select the "audio 1" or "audio 2" options - so I'm stuck with Arabic except on the Hd6 channel.

As for performance yesterday, the opening 30 mins of the Liverpool game on AJS had dreadful video quality for me. Actually gave up, ordered BT Sport for my Sky box. But then the quality improved considerably, although the audio and video were out of sync.
3pm games - website wouldn't load for 15/20 mins. Then when it did I watched the Nottingham Forrest v Bolton game. Average quality (not on one of the HD channels) and Arabic audio. But watchable.
The AJS website went under strain around 3pm yesterday, understandably for the opening weekend. The streams however were not affected and the quality shouldnt have been affected. MAke sure you were connecting by SmartDNS and not VPN.

When choosing to watch a game, maybe don't just try all the channels! At the top click "LIVE" and then you can click on an event. Here you normally get the stream in the native language (and without channel logos!)

Windows 8 64-bit, IE10, i5 3570, AMD Radeon HD 7850 2gb... and rubbish Sky internet speed.
Most games DO have an english commentary! If the game is live it almost certainly will. It's when you are watching a replay of a game that english commentary is not available. If you really want to watch that game with english commentary, use the schedule and find out when its been on different channels then scroll back to that time or just load it as an event and english commentary should be available. (I always find Ligue 1 games not live don't have englsih but when they are live they do have english!)

The problem on saturday around 3pm was actually this.

"AJ use Akamai to deliver their website; when you switched SmartDNS off you'd have been hitting an Akamai content server located near to you (which obviously worked fine)... however, with SmartDNS you get redirected to our cluster in Egypt. Our servers in Egypt were being assigned a malfunctioning Akamai CDN host in Italy, and so were unable to fully access the AJ site... I presume if you'd have been in Egypt too you'll most likely have seen the problem when you turned SmartDNS off."

All guides can be seen on www.watchjsc.com

Thanks - where was this taken from?

So will it be a recurring issue - or was it just a one off?

You're asking whether a host is going to malfunction again next Saturday?

Not an expert - but if it malfunctioned due to capacity load then why not again?

My concern is how AJS is going to be when Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are all kicking-off at 3pm on a Saturday. This weekend, it was just Arsenal and it couldn't cope.

I'm a Saints fan, and I couldn't see the first-half of West Brom v Saints due to my account being blocked for the first-half, so I watched an alternative stream, before getting AJS back for the second-half.

Was quite relieved that I only subscribed to AJS for one monthm and not the season.

The only time they'll all kick off at the same time is the last day of the season.

Hopefully is was just a one-off technical issue on Saturday. I'm sure AJS would have been in contact with the host to voice their own concerns. Akamai are a huge business, and provide services for Netflix, iPlayer, Hulu, Facebook. So I should hope they can sort out the issues ready for next weekend.

Is anyone else having new success with the iPad app via Overplay Smart DNS?

I get a great picture now, and I can also airplay to my TV. Interesting considering AirPlay was not supposed to be supported.

Oddly though, I am seeing a persistent "video loading" message that remains on the iPad's screen, even after the resolution leaps up.

Yes. It's going to malfunction again.
Obviously I wasnt asking for a definite Yes or No if it was going to malfunction. It was asking if it likely to crumble again due to server load or if it was just a random teething problem.

I would appreciate it if you could keep your sarcastic, unhelpful comments to yourself.

Video loading seems a problem with the app itself,

Also if you look a page back I was on to support with Overplay and we managed to fix it.

The guide has been updated here too.
