SmartDNS services ONLY re-route the packets of internet which check your location. THE QUALITY OF YOUR STREAM IS NOT AFFECTED BY WHICH SMARTDNS SERVICE YOU HAVE!
Overplay has the advantage of having more servers in more countries and being a larger company. It is more reliable and gives you access to New Zealand as well as other countries netflix etc.

If you want a good example of a 300kbps stream can be like, head on over to this news broadcast, and switch the quality of the stream to 322kbps. It's a tad higher, but select full screen and look how poor the video quality is.
The stream I'm seeing on the screen with Al Jazeera sport is enormously better.”
Please read what i and others have said about the difference between 300kbps and 300kbs
Remember there are 8 bites in a byte
So 300kbs = 2400 kbps
and 4000kbps = 500kbs

As for performance yesterday, the opening 30 mins of the Liverpool game on AJS had dreadful video quality for me. Actually gave up, ordered BT Sport for my Sky box. But then the quality improved considerably, although the audio and video were out of sync.
3pm games - website wouldn't load for 15/20 mins. Then when it did I watched the Nottingham Forrest v Bolton game. Average quality (not on one of the HD channels) and Arabic audio. But watchable.”
The AJS website went under strain around 3pm yesterday, understandably for the opening weekend. The streams however were not affected and the quality shouldnt have been affected. MAke sure you were connecting by SmartDNS and not VPN.
When choosing to watch a game, maybe don't just try all the channels! At the top click "LIVE" and then you can click on an event. Here you normally get the stream in the native language (and without channel logos!)

Windows 8 64-bit, IE10, i5 3570, AMD Radeon HD 7850 2gb... and rubbish Sky internet speed.”
Most games DO have an english commentary! If the game is live it almost certainly will. It's when you are watching a replay of a game that english commentary is not available. If you really want to watch that game with english commentary, use the schedule and find out when its been on different channels then scroll back to that time or just load it as an event and english commentary should be available. (I always find Ligue 1 games not live don't have englsih but when they are live they do have english!)
