I used one for Star Sports and it was the opposite. Played constantly at the highest quality bitrate and made the games watchable. Will probably go back to that now PLP is toast for me.

Might be worth checking if your router can block google dns too, not footy related but i had problems with hbo and xfinity earlier had a chat with the guys at unlocator who walked me through blocking googles dns on my router and lo and behold everything worked again.
I'm wondering if maybe googles dns is one of the ways plp are catching people out.

You might be on to something there. I had Google's DNS servers blocked until recently when I changed my router and hadn't yet blocked them on the new one. A week later I get my sneaky user email.

I use PLP outside NZ but not in the UK and wiped my router recently - forgetting to do some iptables prerouting for Google DNS.

No email for me but I've only being using the App on a tablet since I forgot to massage the DNS requests.....I've not used PLP in a browser for months.

Maybe they are more sensitive to UK-based subs too.

Speaking of the NBC Sports Live Extra app, are people here able to use the Android app sufficiently? All live streams refuse to load for me (on Nexus 9, Lollipop) which obviously renders the app useless!

PLP on Saturday was very jumpy and at times the quality would struggle with 400k. Seemed to work itself out by the united 2nd half.

I am now using Unblockus which i find to be working well for me. I was using unotelly which i found never really gave me any decent pricture, was always making star sports load in 240kbps.

I can't recall where I got mine from but I would have just Googled "star sports android apk" and you should be able to find it pretty easily.
