Hi

My experiences.
Used admc app last season over overplay smartdns on iPhone 5 - perfect.

Now have ajs app on iPhone 5.
Wifi/overplay vpn - rubbish. Blurry. Sometimes unwatchable.
Wifi/overplay smartdns - perfect.
Unlike admc app last season I cannot get smartdns to work with ajs app/3G. It won't install the profile.
Ajs app/3G/overplay vpn works but can be rubbish, blurry, sometimes unwatchable so hope overplay sort the iphone smartdns profile installation.

What I'd like help with is I have Acerv8930g hd/bluray laptop with hdmi out. I am used to displaying everything on my LCD TV.
Have smartdns working on laptop and playing ajs football matches through various browsers. I'm able to get an average quality stream with a bit of stuttering via chrome. It's disappointing and not happy with it.
I'm able to get much higher def stream via IE but much worse stuttering. It's almost a series of still hd images after a while.
In both scenarios my CPU is 100%.
Does anyone know a solution for this ?
I've considered upgrading CPU but what a pain. It's not a weak laptop.
I tried safari with similair results.
I think the bottleneck is the CPU at 100% causing frame rate to drop right down and higher res the lower frame rate.
But mentioning things like flash. My flash is up to date.

Any ideas ?

The app has been working fine for me this week, what do you mean by "won't install the profile"?

There are some instructions for the iPad at http://watchjsc.com/ipad-iphone-guide/

Apart from that doesn't work well for all of us. Seems iPad app still is problematic in working 100%

Hi one thing you don't mention is your net connection. Have you done a speedtest?

There is a reply to a poster from AJS somewhere above which details the important points which may help.

Its definitely to do with the CPU, try closing down all unused applications and remove some services from starting up then windows boots

Hi

Yeh I speed test regularly and am always getting around 20mb/s with virgin.

What I mean by the profile is last year when setting up smartdns on iPhone it installed an overplay profile at the bottom of "general settings" just above "reset".
I'm assuming this is why I could watch admc app football matches on 3G at work.
But the profile had an end date which it reached.
I expected, on signing up with overplay again, for them to install and renew this overplay profile but instead it said profile installation failed.
So if I want to watch ajs app over 3G I have to use overplays vpn and its not good enough. I get 20mb/s over Three 3G but when speed test through overplay/Egypt VPN it's fraction of that.
I can't find anywhere else on iphone 5 where it lets you change dns for 3G so have assumed it must have been this profile which did it.

I'm having the same issues

After upgrading my graphics card and messing with hardware acceleration on and off I can get my cpu usage down in the high 70's but there is still a definite slowdown/stutter
It's very slight but it sometime makes the image look like its not in 100% speed

This is now using a 3.0ghz dual core cpu and a radeon hd7750 gfx card

Now that should be plenty to handly this sort of thing but
There is something causing an issue

I'm starting to think I would have been better just getting an Apple TV and using airplay as it would have been cheaper than the gfx card alone

I have a venton receiver and was hoping to use the airplayer plugin but I have issue with that plugin freezing after 30 seconds and the cache not moving

Ah 3G - yes, that'd be problematic for the normal SmartDNS... maybe try removing the old profiles, and then reinstalling your new one - you can remove them from Settings->General->Profiles and I think you add them again from the Setup page on overplay.net? I assume you'd then want to connect to the vpn-smart-uk VPN server

If your on 3G and have overplay VPN then try connecting up to UK-Smart VPN as this includes smartdns built into the VPN connection

Yeh removed old profile but new one still failed to install.

Probably worth an email to support@overplay.net then I guess!

Thanks. You don't happen to have that server address do you. It's just the vpn profile hasn't installed automatically and that server address isn't appearing in my overplay account on their website, although I remember those smart addresses from my old overplay profile. If anyone has it ill try to install it manually.

I've also emailed overplay regarding the vpn profile failing to install manually. Cheers.

Does anyone have a laptop/aj sport/hdmi to LCD telly set up that works without CPU stuttering at 100% ?
Looks like there's a few, including me, wondering why there laptop cpu's are maxing out streaming games.

My profile shows vpn-smart-uk.overplay.co (or vpn-smart-us.overplay.co) -- note that that's .co and not .co.uk or .com!

Have you tried updating the graphics card drivers on your laptop? Is hardware acceleration enabled in flash? (you can right click the AJ video window, and choose 'settings' to check)

Have you tried just manually entering the VPN configs into your iOS device? It is very quick (once you know what to do) and not terribly hard. Also, you can just add the countries you really need.

Emailed overplay, vpn profile fixed already. Said it was an issue a few had and was now rectified. Profile installed fine now.

I'm just after a solution to laptop 100% CPU prob now.

Thanks all

Hi

I have a Gigabyte U2442v2 notebook with i7 proc 2,4ghz /
8gb RAM / SATA ssd / NVIDIA GT640m 2gb with 14" 1600x900 LCD

Have BT Infinity (Speedtest normally around 60/16) have a Wireless repeater connected via Ethernet, so connected via WiFi about 6' away.

Have Windows 8 using Chrome with HOLA and have to admit I am pretty impressed. Connected to my 42" Plasma via HDMI changing Res to suit I am still impressed!

Was watching some of the Chelsea v Villa game last night and after have to admit I sat in awe at the quality of the AJS pundit studio shot.

I have Sky HD and yes that pips AJS fractionally but not in sharpness more ball movement.

Hope that helps

Alan

The only matches guaranteed to be in English are the live EPL matches where they promised they'll have English for them (many of the replays of those matches unfortunately then only have Arabic).

When you say ball movement does it look like its at like 99% of full speed if say a player hits a cross field ball and the camera follows

As that is what I'm getting, since upgrading my gfx I don't seem to be getting the stuttering anymore I have also noticed if you have a decent gfx and you enable hardware acceleration it helps the CPU load as it offloads the processing to the graphics card hardware

I couldn't find a way of expressing the ball movement but yours sounds like a good way! I just watched a bit of Man C v Newcastle rerun on HD6 and yes I think thats what I mean.

I have had a look at the settings but not sure how to change the accelerator. Currently my CPU and memory utilizations are about 30% & 40% and I haven't turned off my Maxthon browser with about 15 tabs open or any other services,

Cheers
