Wow, I've been very pleasantly surprised by watching the City-Sunderland game via BT Sports Windows app.
I don't know what resolutions or bitrates it uses but it was one of the best sports streams I've ever seen , on a par with Iplayer 5K streams and much better than NBC's 1080P streams and well worth the 5 quid a month it costs if you're a BT customer.
It probably has more value for me as I'll use it extensively for college football as well as our football when the college season starts, I think the biggest complement I can pay the service is that at no point during the game did I think I was watching an internet stream.
Also I have to add the Windows app is only compatible with Windows 10, I tried to set up my old dad with it on his Windows 8.1 PC and it was a no go.
A second addendum would be is I've sideloaded the Android app onto my Fire TV Stick and whilst it works well the Android picture is decidedly SD and not a patch on the Windows version.

. At least now I won't waste anymore time on it! Back to the tablet app for me then!
