I noticed before the Liverpool game a Premier League notice came up saying 'This broadcast is only authorised for viewing in the United States.'

I noticed that so I thought I'd better turn it off

Seriously though, I'm lucky to have 200 Mb/s internet and a sister in USA. The stream is still terrible though (NBC Sports). It has moments of clarity then mud. Premier League Pass was spot on all season.

I'd say snap except my US contact is a best friend rather than a sibling.
Otherwise I'd say likewise with a 200MB/s connection, but the Stoke-City then Watford-Chelsea games have been perfect for me today.
That being said NBC's 1080P streams had nowhere near as good a picture as the Leicester-Arsenal game I'm currently watching on the BT Sports app, and trust me I'm no fan boy of any company or service but I have to give credit where its due, I've only seen better live streams via Iplayer than I'm watching right now on BT.

I was just thinking the same about the pic quality on BT!

Can you watch matches on BT Sports via "demand" ie full match replays the next day or whatever? That's something NBC has I like a lot (Viaplay Sweden has that as well but they only remain for 48 hours which sucks).

Thanks all for letting me know about the quality. Ditching unblock-us today and trying some VPN's.

Some dns providers are better than others smart dns is very useful for many different services its just trial and error getting the service that fits you, from my experience the apple tv streams can be difficult to get a reliable feed no matter what dns provider you use.

Most of the time am happy to use my dns provider and watch via airplay off my iPhone and that's pretty much perfect, but if i use the apple tv directly I tend to use a vpn, the android streams seems to be fairly reliable using dense and vpn am on a 300 Meg connection btw.

If you do use a vpn i would not post the provider publicly as there is a good chance it could get blocked or overloaded.

Many VPN company's offer free trials, I would suggest taking those that do up on their offer.
It took me a fair amount of trying different providers and servers to find what works for me,
for example the service I'm using now has many US servers, probably well over 100 but only a few of those servers work reliably, a rule of thumb I use is to look for a low ping and then go to speedtest.net and check not only the speed but that the server is showing in the location it says its in, you need a little bit of US geographical knowledge for that but if a server says its in New York for example then you go on speedtest and it shows up on the west coast (the sea is to the left) you know its no good.
I'd look for something that gives you a constant 20 Mbps or more speed to allow for overheads and the occasional slow down.

As jcm193 said when you find what works for you don't post it in public or sure as eggs is eggs it wont work for long.

Good luck, it takes a while to get something working that you're happy with but its worth the effort.

This is a shocking commentary on the state of general geographical knowledge!

Has anyone else tried nbcsports extra via chromecast it works with ios and android been playing with it for a short time and the quality is exceptional you dont need a vpn smart dns will do, you do have to be able to block google dns at the router level to get it to work though

I saw that too as I was watching it, however as an LFC fan I wouldn't have minded if I had not been able to see us slump to a terrible defeat!

I would personally connect any device you are watching on directly to your router via a wired connection. You want to used as much as your bandwidth as you can and you simply will not via Wi-Fi.

I do this with my Kodi Android box and my AppleTV.

I use NBC via my AppleTV (wired connection) with my iPad (which I could use to Airplay to my AppleTV) as a backup.

coverage has been good on the iPad (but with an annoying advert a the bottom of the app) but its been far better quality on AppleTV.

BIB absolutely agree although on wireless 5ghz is pretty good and solid too managing to hit around 70mbs on 5ghz it's the 2.4ghz that's a issue.
