My *iPhone* is airplaying just fine with the latest update. Could it be a difference between iPad and iPhone? Also note that I installed from the Egyptian app store - could that be important?

It is likely to be complicated licensing agreements, and it may have nothing to do with the EPL - then again, it might.

Some content providers charge extra for AirPlay support. Some licenses state that the iOS stream can not be "re-broadcasted" which some lawyers may have told the broadcaster this includes AirPlay. Some licenses state that the stream can only be displayed directly on the mobile device itself. etc etc...

Because AJS offer lots of sports from many different suppliers, it may be that they don't want to spend time, money and effort to allow AirPlay support only on specific sports - so they blanket ban it.

It gets really, really complicated, and let's be honest, AJS did say right from the beginning that AirPlay wasn't supported, but it just happened to work on their iOS app. Perhaps that was an error?

PLP only offer one sport, the EPL and they stated right from the beginning that AirPlay was supported, and it is. Either they were happy to pay for additional AirPlay rights, or it wasn't an issue with the EPL, or their lawyers read the legal jargon differently, or....

etc etc
Well, the Airplay has worked before, last season for example. It was no error as they stated on one of the updates long ago that "airplay support". And I have used it in the past, when I still had iPhone. Only new sport is now Prem, so I really don't believe that something else would have caused this.

@pradda92, The app store won't make a difference, but it does appear that AirPlay may have not been stopped on the iPhone. The question is, are the streams as good on the iPhone as they are on the iPad? Maybe this was a deciding factor?

I can't test as I have reached my four device limit, and I don't have time to find out how to clear that (if anyone knows, don't be shy and let me know)

Year, I heard about that as well. In fact, one of the replies about AirPlay I received stated it wasn't available for "this" season.

It could be a lot of things that changed that, as in my post and many more.

Quality on the iPhone is the same as on iPad.

I use Gilisoft Screen Recorder 4, pretty much a no frills app but does the job, also use Applian's Replay Video Capture 6

Unfortunately the match I'm recording (Villa v Rotherham on HD6) is very stuttery, not smooth at all
I have used VideoCacheView which lists all streams from all browsers and you can then replay, rename, keep etc and they have been very good.

However I tried with AJS which worked well but I eventually got the Too many LogOns from AJS and had to reset, so I have not explored much since, but worth a try with this or other systems.

Thanks, I hadn't heard of that one, would much prefer something to capture the stream rather than having to sit recording the video but unfortunately the problem with those I tried was that they'd capture the initial 500kbit stream but not the improved 2.5Mbit one so it was pointless

Just noticed someone on another thread saying they are unable to access Netflix today via Overplay - if everyone unable to use AJS today is using Overplay then there may be a problem at Overplay's end, not AJS...?
At the moment, I'm able to log in to AJS. But the normal streams were horrendous. For the HD stream, it's worst than the normal stream at times. Not sure if it is AJS doing maintenance or Overplay.

Adding on, for Overplay, I was one of the few who was unable to log in to Netflix, Hulu and AJS. On top of that, I was unable to even access Netflix & Dramafever from my Roku 2XS. I have my router configured to Overplay's SmartDNS and it usually works (for both wifi and wired). But for the past few days, the Roku 2XS fails on me.

I tried other the other DNS that was provided from my ISP as a trial, and it worked flawlessly on my Roku. But the downside was it is costly and unable to access AJS or most of the other sites (only US & UK). I'm considering other DNS services but Unotelly doesn't seem user friendly as Overplay. Any ideas mates?

I did test two "highly rated" capture softwares: Fraps and Bandicam. Fraps did make very good quality with "half size" option (540p & 25fps), but one single file (1minute) was 500meg (one game apx 52,5 gigs. It have also "full size" option with 1080p resolution and still 25fps, but 1 minute file was 1,5gigs!

Bandicam was better, bacause qualtity was allmost like Fraps, but with xvid compression, one minute file (480p) was 110meg and 25fps, so one full game is 11,5gigs, so its transferable to ipad easily with VLCstreamer (you can start watching the game while it has buffered little bit).

Well I'm getting all pc streams via Overplay freezing whether they be SD or HD channels today,
I wonder if AJS have worked out a way to stop us viewing the streams outside of their territory or Overplays servers are playing up?

Yes the HDMI cable will include audio, just be sure that in "Playback Devices" your HDMI Audio Device is enabled and default (so it will play the audio rather than your laptop), or you could just set the laptop sound to disabled which should send the sound through the cable:

Tried HD2, HD3 and HD6 tonight and they're all streaming fine for me, no freezing or crashing yet. Here's hoping they've ironed out any problems they were having this week. For the record, I'm not using Overplay so no idea if there's any issues with their servers.

Regarding the airplay situation, after numerous emails they finally admitted that it was their decision and they can't comment on it. But they will inform management about it. I explained that it has been faultless all the time for me unlike the browser.

They were very keen to solve this freezing and quality problem, I had to send information, they also asked for pictures for evidence. Hopefully they will solve these problems now, and maybe they include the airplay in the future updates. But, what I understood how they told that it would not work in the future, it should continue to work with the older version. Not sure, but that is what I understood between the lines.

One thing that doesn't really add up for me is the 4200kbps stream that has been reported to be coming to iOS devices.
Certainly, for the iPhone, it makes no sense at all. Imo, there won't be any difference in appearance watching sports on such a small screen.
It could make a difference watching it on the iPad, if you're looking at it close up, but That still doesn't make sense to me.
All this leads me to believe that if the 4200kbps stream starts up on iOS devices, we will be able to use Airplay. Of course, this is a huge assumption, but it's what makes sense to me... Whether or not this opinion is shared by AJS is another matter.

Not sure if I want to renew my sub after the month is over. Stuttering streams are no good to me I can get smoother streams from those free ones you'd find on the net.

Using the ipad is one solution but since you can't change the audio on that its pretty useless and the quality isn't as good compared to the computer.

No 4000kbps on iOS, not even HD on HD channels. It looks good on iPad and iPhone screen maybe, but when you airplay it, you'll notice that it's SD. AJS Support said that they will inform all customers after the upgrade is made. But, they also said "very soon" almost two weeks ago.
I was airplaying it to a 65 inch screen and it was noticebly sharper and better quality than when I played via HDMI off a 300kbs (2500kbps) stream from my gaming PC

Both were very smooth and were on the same wireless connection also my PC has no CPU problems

I don't think they are. From personal experience, the quality of the picture is better on the web app, but the iPad app has smoother video.
If your picture isn't smooth on the web app, try out different browsers, chrome, firefox, waterfox, safari, opera until you find something which works best, try playing around with hardware accelartino (on or off) and see if that helps

Just noticed someone on another thread saying they are unable to access Netflix today via Overplay - if everyone unable to use AJS today is using Overplay then there may be a problem at Overplay's end, not AJS...?
If you are unable to access something, it is probably that your IP adderss has changed. If you just log in to the overplay website adn go to the SmartDNS tab it will automatically log your IP and enable services for it straight away.

At the moment, I'm able to log in to AJS. But the normal streams were horrendous. For the HD stream, it's worst than the normal stream at times. Not sure if it is AJS doing maintenance or Overplay.

Just a bit of info. There is no way OverPlay can limit your stream really. It only re-routes the packets of internet which check your location (the Geo-Restriction service). The actual stream and quality of the stream is not touched in the slightest by OverPlay so any issues you are having stream wise is not related to that.

Also read what i just wrote to the last guy about if OverPlay stops. If that does nothing I had a problem when i didn't have access to some geo restriced stuff and i went on their live help and they gave me 2 different DNS addresses which worked immediately. So that might be worth a try?

Go to the OverPlay webstie on your phone, log in, click the SmartDNS tab, wait for it to enable. Let me know if it's still stopped working

With regard to all the stuff about no AirPlay on the iOS app... Do you recommend that I do not update the app yet as the previous version works fine for me?
