I've emailed but got the same standard reply about it must be my connection. Why just HD6 / +10?
I'm guessing its got to be capacity / demand issue? |

I'm guessing its got to be capacity / demand issue? Could it have anything to do with Overplay etc? AJ are adamant that things are running smoothly from their end. |

Managed to finely get a game up on HD2 Norwich City v Southampton. If its like this every week I mite give PLP a go next mouth.
) from start to finish not quite SKy HD standard on movement but not far off. PC>PlasmaAs an experiment I used my iPad to stream the Ashes from Sky Go, neither effecting the other. So far 3 Saturdays I have been really impressed and am using Chrome/Hola. Cheers Alan |

same here
having problem on HD6 / +10 then switched and watch Westham good quality , dropping a few times and one time froze and i refreshed to continue. now trying to watch palace , its ok for 30 sec then freezes. frustrating , as i thought to switch to studio in half time with no luck. must be too many connections on this stream...as its the english channel. is it only like this on sat-sun-mon ? or same on non-peak times ? |

I haven't tried this device personally, but I am currently reviewing a Favi SmartStick which is also an Android device for catch-up television.
To be honest, the UI is horrible. Android was designed for a touch screen environment and it really is painful to use on a television. Still, if I can get over the four device maximum for AJS, I'll test the football on that as well. would you be able to test stream there ? and check smoothness ? btw i dont see if it handles flash. theres the sony nsz -gs7 vizio co-star hisense pulse all are the google experience and have CHROME WITH FLASH , just need to be tested. Cheers |

Well I was thinking overplay ...but people say that they hardly do anything on their servers to make it work.
Has anyone had the issue not using overplay? If it is a capacity issue then this will get worse tomorrow - can you imagine the load tomorrow. |

Can others confirm what service they're using to change their DNS settings? I'm with Overplay so perhaps we can rubbish the theory that it could be their issue if non-Overplay users are experiencing the same problems? |

Right...
I've just tried the Unblock-Us free trial... and can confirm the same thing happened straight away on HD6. Stopped almost immediately after starting so it surely has got to be an AJ issue! |

Im going as far as saying its capacity issue. Try it now after the match, all is fine as demand has clearly dropped on the service.
Now taking the above test on another DNS service it has to be that AJ cant cope with server load. That means tomorrows match(es) are basically going to be total farces. |

Didn't have one last weekend either! There were no major matches being played today to start a huge scramble... I would have thought should any problems have arisen it would have been tomorrow with Liverpool & Man Utd playing... certainly not today! Not much we can do if it is a capacity issue though because with them claiming all fine at their end, short of moving to another provider, we're stuffed. |

i really think problem started since the "Maintenance" they have done.
we can all send them emails regarding this issue with HD6 referring to OVERLOAD. |

Yep, now the matches have finished, HD6 is running smooth again. Hope tomorrow isn't like today

I think tomorrow is actually going to send this forum into meltdown and maybe AJ will have to come out and admit that their is a capacity issue. Saying that though - can they easily solve it as I bet subscriber numbers are so high they will need some serious kit just to maintain current standards. Could you imagine how badly it would cope if they offered 4mb streams? |

Tried that earlier. Same stock response. As far as they're concerned, no blame is being laid at their feet.

They've requested the following information: Quote:
Device used : Will I get away with Googling a random Egyptian IP address and use that?
Internet Speed: http://www.speedtest.net/ Broadband Connection: www.pingtest.net Your IP location: whatismyipaddress.com |

Well I seem to be in the minority of having very few problems and I use the Chrome browser with the Hola extension on my laptop>HDMI TV.
Maybe I am just lucky at the mo, I would switch to a paid service if it was no good. |

Received this from AJS today
From AJS:
" The process of upgrading the HD channels is continuing Please try the following for the freeze issue : When the video screen is up in our website can you right click (or ctrl click if using a Mac) on the streaming screen then click settings. In the box that pops up can you disable ‘enable hardware acceleration’ by unchecking the box on the first tab then click close. Once completed please refresh your screen, usually by pressing F5. can test your broadband line by going to www.pingtest.net" I would imagine that becasue they are in the process of upgrading to HD some of the servers have been reserved for testing and when it will be upgraded hopefully this issue at peak times will improve |

The Akamai content server for AJ sport is 110751-f.akamaihd.net...
What do you see if you type the following at the command prompt (assuming windows): tracert 110751-f.akamaihd.net ping 110751-f.akamaihd.net or on OSX/linux: traceroute 110751-f.akamaihd.net ping 110751-f.akamaihd.net Edit: actually, thinking about it, that's not going to definitively prove anything since the IP address of that host changes frequently and it may be just the one that your web browser has cached that's proving troublesome at that particular time. If you're familiar, you could use Wireshark to determine the IP address of the content server you're using and see what the latency to that IP address is... |

That does seem quite jittery (bouncing between 33 and 37ms) which is often a sign of a server being fairly heavily loaded. If I might ask, what DNS server address are you using? How is the quality that you're seeing on HD6 at present?

It also looks like you're using a WiFi connection since there's sign of jitter to your local router even - any chance you could repeat wired or are you a wireless only household?!
