Top Tip for iOS users!
Hey iOS users
had an idea, something i think we should i do When you backup your iphone (Transfer your purchases) go to the Mobile Applications folder in your itunes media folder Just make a copy of the Al Jazeera app you have there so if any future AJS app doesn't work with your Also if you have updated to the new version and you haven't synced it yet and want your old one back... Go into your Mobile Applications folder and check whether or not you have "Sport 2.2.ipa" if so make a copy of it, and then delete the 2.2.1 off your iphone (the latest one). Then when you next plug in your iphone/ipad drag and drop the 2.2 version in and hopefully that will work |

HD6 was great for the united game but this arsenal game is constantly losing quality, pretty much unwatchable at full screen.

I've had no problems with HD6 today which is good
I've also never ever had problem with the stream not being smooth, i think that's purely down to your setup and the browser you use I'm running FRAPS ant it says it's playing between 30-35 FPS Also when re-winding I've found if you only rewind once and watch from there its fine and doesnt freeze. So if you want to watch something earlier in the day. Refresh the stream and go back only once to that point (if you miss it refresh again and try again). Not sure why this is, and it could just be purely speculation but it works for me Hope that helps |

The worst part is it skips some of the action when it reduces the quality, unacceptable for a pay service imo (even for a dodgily obtained one).
A real shame as the United game was close to flawless, but this has definitely turned into a mixed bag today. |

Are you using Overplay? Do you get any improvement from switching between the two DNS servers that they provide and then restarting your browser?

With regard to the 'jerky ball movement in an otherwise excellent picture' that some of us have discussed.
Earlier I watched a bit of the Arsenal game and for me usual high quality. I had to go out and tried my Galaxy 4 with Sky Go and had a very watchable picture not as good as AJS but pretty good. I was using the BT WIFI FON public service. The interesting point for me was that on the latter the ball was rolling perfectly even with the crowd or rolling ads in background. Now given the vast superiority of my home equipment re my Galaxy spec the only major difference was using Sky from UK against AJS via a Geo-unblocker. I don't really know how to analyse this but would think it holds some clue. Cheers Alan |

What's your set up and browser?
Running on chrome, hardware acceleration turned off (think this made a difference actually) Arsenal game was fantastic for me all the way through Wired 60mb internet connection |

I've got the same processor and graphics, although Sky internet is only a max of around 9mb - suspect that is reason I lose picture quality quite regularly?
But I haven't tried turning hardware acceleration off - is that via control panel, or just the Flash settings? right click anywhere in video , setting-->adobe flash settings(first from left) -->untick "enable" does this really help ? |

The stuttering I'm guessing is to do with Flash - hence why ipad streams are smoother. Guessing flash cant handle the streams as well as the ipad optimised technology can.
As I've got a PLP sub and still got an active AJS 1 month sub (because I forgot to cancel it!), I thought I'd try to do some comparison screenshots of the two on both PC and iPad. They're not perfect because they are not quite at exactly the same point but they were the best I could manage. PLP was set at 3000bps but I don't know what AJS was streaming at although I do have a 15Mbps connection so it should have been fairly good. This is AJS on the PC. This is PLP on the PC. This is AJS on the iPad mini. This is PLP on the iPad mini. Of course, what you don't get with PLP is anything other than Premier League footy! |

This may well be the case. I guess 'stuttering' may not be the right word for what I see here but the PC streams are not as smooth as the iPad streams from either AJS or PLP but that may have more to do with my hardware than anything else.

AJS gives you 13,000 ( as they advertise) live events vs PLP gives you 380 matches. Big Big Difference |

This is what i get for AJS on pc I had PLP for the day and thought AJS seemed crisper and better (my brother thought PLP had better colouring though) They were on similar par in my opinion Looking forward to the 4000kbps for AJS though |

For those using Overplay and AJS, which DNS server do people find better?
176.67.84.19 or 178.79.166.52 ? |
