I've used iPad and PC at the same time. It doesn't like when I log in and out a few times in quick succession.

Does your iPad version still have the old channel line up?

I imagine so if it handles Super HD Netflix, although my PC was handling Netflix OK when it was underclocked. It uses Silverlight, so there isn't a direct comparison. I guess you'll just have to try it...

For information purposes, I'm running an AMD A6-3500 HTPC.
True. Think I'll buy a month pass to begin with and see how it goes.

Yes. Don't think the new app has been released yet.

understand that all of BPL matches will be shown on HD this week (and maybe in the future). however, for all the matches, will there be a dual audio (english and arab) or will there be ONLY ARAB commentator for some still?

I have two further questions.

I was just looking on the Whirlpool forum, and a couple of people on there were seeming to suggest that you needed to get VPN to be able to view live games, and that Smart DNS would not suffice.

Is this right? I have just taken out an Overplay Smart DNS subscription. I have been able to view recorded games fine, but have not yet tried a live game (was going to try England Under-21's v Scotland Under-21's tonight).

Also, I have installed Smart DNS on my wife's laptop, which uses Windows 7 Home Premium. On trying to view one of the Al Jazeera Sport channels, I got a "Geoblocked" message. Could it be the case that you can't view the content on a laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium rather than Windows 7 or Windows 8?

Thanks.

No, you dont need the VPN to access. Check your settings again on the laptop.

I've been watching fine with Overplays Smart DNS.

If it gives you the Geoblocked message, go to Overplays site and check you have the DNS set up correctly again.

@Pat, it could be that you have a dynamic IP address. This means your ISP changes your external IP address every 24 hours, once a week, or at some other schedule. This is quite common.

Normally, you never see this unless you are running a server that you want to access externally.

But SmartDNS is one area where it can be seen, as Overplay will use your external IP address as proof of who you are. If it changes, you have to reset it at Overplay's website.

This is a bit annoying, but there are ways to automate this. I have done so using the dynamic DNS method mentioned here.

But if his IP address has changed, Overplay wont let you on Al Jazeera without resetting your IP address.

Everytime my router is rebooted - I cant access a site on their list, be it BBC, Netflix or Al Jazeera without confirming that my IP address has changed.

^^ Good point. I haven't tested this situation with Al Jazeera, but it does seem to do as you say with the BBC and some others.

Let us know if it works ( or doesnt ) Pat.

Overplay should give you a green circle on the Smart DNS page of their site, to confirm you are up and running.

Was there any precautions you need to take, if I want to watch al jazeera home at myself one day, and if i bring my PC to a mate another day to watch al jazeera? I seem to remember that in the old thread, the talk was that it could create problems with ip address, even with Smart DNS. Anyone can confirm this, Possibly give advice on how to make it possible?

I guess i am not the only one who needs to watch Al jazeera away from home sometimes? I have a desktop pc...

On HD6 now the return of Richard Keys & Andy Gray, premier league review. Also talking about their new shows, including the return of Monday night football, and HD6 has all Saturday goals as they happen. Nice move from AJ using the old sky format. Looking forward to it

All games are on, are you not just looking at one of the channels, instead of the full schedule

Hi guys, new member here! Thanks to everyone for all the information.
I've been reading the other thread that was deleted and just read through this one.

Do you need an address in Egypt or one of the other regions to subscribe to AJS?

I already have SmartDNS via Overplay for use with Netflix so was going to sign up for a month to see what the service is like.

Has anyone used the service with the browser in a Samsung Smart tv? Did it work? I've got mine in the bedroom connected via home plugs.

Does AJS iPad app support HDMI adapter? Many video app doesn't support it and as far as I have tried iPad app is full of bugs and airplay Is not even working. Adapter cost ~40€ so don't want to rush and buy it.

Seems most of the conversation here is about AJS which is fair enough, what you get and for the price is fantastic! I can see why many have gone for this. I have the app on my iPhones and iPad though my only concerns are pixelation, then also the app crashing a fair bit, only happening on iPad though and can't think why.

Anyway, I have Premier League Pass too and as much as I want this service to be good, much like the way the website is set out, the responses from the company, along with the time they are taking to get the App out there for the service to be enjoyed on iPhone and iPad, I'm beginning to have second thoughts about the service. Does anyone know anything about when this will be available?
