AJS actually put in a serious bid in the UK for the Premier League highlights recently (would mean no more BBC MOTD!)
Where did you hear that? As far as I'm aware, they didn't place a bid on any live rights package and the highlights package is designated free-to-air, meaning only BBC, ITV, C4 or C5 could bid and win. AJ wouldn't have been able to submit a bid for the highlights.

This is all speculation at the moment. Why do people assume this is a problem caused by AJS. To me it looks like an issue at the Overplay end.
So why has UnotellyDNS packed in as well?

It seems overplay is fixed...

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced due to some technical difficulties.

Could you please login to your OverPlay account, click on "SmartDNS" tab to re-activate the SmartDNS service for your IP address at:

http://overplay.net/s

You will need to wait up to 60 seconds for it to take effect, then please clear your web browser cache and cookies then retry accessing the Al Jazeera Sport website and see if that works fine for you.

If you are still unable to access Al Jazeera Sport with our SmartDNS service, please help us with the device/Operating system you are using.

I would say it was Al Jazeera proactively blocking but it's a cr and mouse game. Overplay have sorted it for now. It will happen again though I reckon.

But I have no hard proof! Just speculation

I tried premierleague pass due to the problems we all had yesterday and I must say the picture quality was the best I've seen so far. I'm considering making the jump, only thing is they don't have a monthly payment method

The Premier League are selling sole rights to live games for a lot of money.

If I was going to pay them £1.78 billion for the UK rights to a shedload of Premier League games I would want some cast iron guarantees that I really did have sole rights.

I might even have a clause in there saying I got a refund from the Premiership should anyone else's transmission be freely available in the UK.

I might even provide technical help to AJS to help them cut off their feed.

There is a lot of money involved so I imagine they will be employing some very clever people to stop AJS's online Premiership feed to the UK..

I think it will go on all season.

Pretty much yeah. The domestic rights are worth over £3billion for the duration of the deal so wouldn't you expect assurances from the league that your investment would be protected? I know I would.

It's not purely down to that though. They can't be seen to be doing nothing when they're aware that 3pm fixtures are being beamed into pubs. They've got to actively pursue it.

I have a feeling that the Premier League will be tweaking the agreements to follow suit with NBCUniversal - i.e. that access can only be granted to streaming services with an active subscription / viewing card number. They're not afraid to make changes midway through a tender as we all know from the last time they blocked all but one 3pm kickoff and banned English comms from European satellite distribution.

AJS has been working fine with overplay.net since halfway through the first half of Madrid & Villareal last night. I've told Overplay's support that I'll test it during the next two EPL games and see how I get on. The iOS app on my iPhone 5 would only play about 5-10 minutes of a game before having to reload the stream/channel.

I hope Overplay can crack this, couldn't go back to no 3pm's and the ludicrous prices for Sky & BT Sports.

Keep emailing them. They have replied much more than usual in the last 24 hours, hopefully the persistence will ensure they keep an eye on AJS (I'm sure they'd go all out if Netflix USA was blocked).

I don't think so, the stream would just stop dead. A pity because the quality (even on SD +3) is excellent.

Rewinding the stream 1-2 minutes seems to do the trick, no problems with quality after trying that.

Read it in an article (might not have been this one) a while ago. I think that the free-to-air clause expires either end of this season and there was speculation (might have been rubbish) that AJS would buy it although it is very likely it would have be re-instated

Then again i could be completely wrong

Either way.... Good to have OverPlay working with AJS again so we can watch on iOS

Go to settings - general - autolock and choose never and this fixed it for me on iPhone

Have you tried my tips i posted earlier?
[top tip] Using CCleaner to clean the browser properly (make sure the browser you use is selected)
Increasing the storage AJS can hold
Playing around with Hardware Acceleration on the flash players settings

I accidentally updated the iOS app on my iPad and lost airplay.

If anyone here has the iOS app v2.2, would be greatly appreciated, if you could backup the app on iTunes, and upload the AJS .ipa file to somewhere so I could download it and restore the old version to my iPad, anyone, please?!?

If you have a mac you might find the .ipa in the trash if you've not emptied it. It's saved me a few times

I was considering subscribing to AJS, although not that sure with the recent comments! I too wouldn't mind the ipa that supports airplay to keep in case I subscribe later

I'll try the iPhone tip though if that's the autolock for the lock screen I don't see why it should help. Usually the matches stream continuously.

I've tried the other suggestions for the web version though they haven't usually made much difference for me. The default settings I use in Ubuntu and Chromium have been almost like Sky HD up to this weekend.!

Working for me again on both Windows and iOS.

Would be nice to know if it was a genuine issue at OverPlay or an attempt by AJS to block non Middle East users.
