That just about sum`s it up CaptainRobbo in my opinion the premier league are just short sited and there never going stop people watching the football at least with official coverage there get the lions share of the revenue that comes from it Quote:
Like others ive been able to view AJS this weekend without any issues, but TBH its getting too much of a cat and mouse game and its not worth the hassle.
Ironically ive found an alternative source that is only a fiver a month but not offical, but ive tested it all weekend and it works just as well as AJS without the need for Smart DNS. With the cost of AJS and smart DNS ill be saving myself 15 per month and no hassle! tried going down the legit route but forced back to the unoffical route! |

Sorry but what? This is a forum for people to discuss what they want within reason to the thread topic. Just because a couple of people have turned this thread into an excessively paranoid embarrassing one doesn't mean others can't discuss things as normal!
When are people going to get it in their heads that the PL at present are just showing their force? Discussed or not on a DS forum they were always going to get tough at some point!! None of us have any right to be watching MENA coverage, it was extremely good while it lasted, but now people need to sit back and wait for the storm to die down. Things like the recent Daily Mail article and Richard Keys telling people how to subscribe from outside MENA could have played a bigger part than DS, no? I have been around this forum a while and think it's great but to think its responsible for the recent problems is taking it too far. If this is the case my support of HOLA has probably been the cause of its downfall this week. If I only had this power ![]() I use Google ( thats probably caused its share value to rise this week too) and found a way to keep going. There are hundreds of places to find this info, media sites and footy sites for starters! On a related topic do Brit ex-pats abroad use Sky GO with accounts based in the UK. Whoops they will be clamping down on that now I have posted. Cheers Alan |

Sky go will not be stopped as the premier league and sky are in each others pockets its also a well known fact that its easy to get sky tv abroad but the premier league and sky just turn a blind eye because of the amount of money sky pay for the football rights Quote:
Pretty much this.

I think it must be your vpn or dns provider Quote:

I'm not here to sound pro Sky but the amount of money they pay for the live rights is nothing to do with the Premier League - in this instance, it's got a lot more to do with BT than anybody else! It's an open tender that anybody can win. If BT would have placed a high enough bid it could have been them showing the Manchester derby today for example. The PL have no loyalty to anybody - they go with whoever splashes the most cash. |

Its been well documented to be a fact go on any satellite forum and there be threads about it, people will always want sky tv especially sky sports because its considered to be excellent coverage. Also it draws in people when there on holiday but i don`t expect you to agree but ive worked in holiday resorts around Europe i know first hand that it goes on,anyway where getting off topic and ive had about enough of Al Jazeera Sports so iam going to look at alternatives Quote:
And that is of course just in your opinion and based on no fact at all. The Premier League have no reason to ask Sky to sort out their own foreign reception issues because all the live matches Sky show are widely available around the world... 3pm matches being broadcast around the world are a different matter entirely - hence the PL maintaining a tough stance on the issue.

Trying to get a sub continental alternative (if you know what I mean) but it's been rejected with overplay. Anyone got any ideas? (PS I'm a fan, not a spy).

because of the issues of them blocking geo-restriction services i would say no, not anymore
i bought a full seasons sub too ![]() also if you're new here, we no longer discuss specifics of Geo-restriction services if you live in america use nbc, if you live in mena use al jazeera, if you live in scandanavia use Viasat, if you live in new zealand use PLP, if you live in asia use star sports My question, if you want to watch all games live, is it only Al jazeera as an ok option or is it other also? |

Yes, PLP still working ok here with SmartDNS. As you've only made one post and just joined, I may have to kill you now I've told you that
.I've got a trial for UnoDNS and PLP doesn't work with that as it's not one of the supported channels at the moment. AJS does seem to be working for the time being with UnoDNS but that may change nearer the 3pm kick offs as I think it was one of the previously affected services. Graham |

Well in scandinavia you have the saturday 15:00 UK time rule, and the reason he asked about al jazeera is the option to watch all games live.
My question, if you want to watch all games live, is it only Al jazeera as an ok option or is it other also? Therefor you would have to find a combination of one of those sites that allowed you to create an account AND most importantly one that you can find a VPN and/or DNS service that can access it. You can pretty much read in to it why this thread is mostly about the MENA and NZ areas. There is no reason why any one can't research other options. Cheers Alan |

Guys, asking again if i can have a pm for the workaround. Yes, my registration shows August (before season started btw)
Surely, thinking logically about it, there was no need for anyone who had intentions to report what we have been discussing to register on this site as they may have been getting the info from just reading the posts! And if they HAVE registered then it must have been September date onwards, there were no problems like this in August! If anyone is to blame for this then surely its the Daily Mail for bringing this out into the public domain? Anyway, if someone can pm me i would really appreciate it, dont want to give up on JSC yet but starting to look at other options

So basically, this thread has turned into a childish "I have it, but I'm not telling you how" bragging match.
Brilliant. |

Who`s bragging about having the service i for one have clearly said ive have it working but as its so unreliable i will not be continuing with it after this month,I would not recommend this service to anybody let alone brag about it,as far as im concerned it £12 wasted and i would move to another service even without English commentary in a heart beat given the chance. The fact that no one is willing to openly discuss dns vpn providers is more to keep it under the radar of the premier league that's why i personally think overplay are having so many issues with ajs as there are by far the most talked about and popular provider. Quote:
It seems that way! I always though forums were discussion areas and places to share knowledge. It seems to be the opposite here.

Maybe I've missed something, but why would the Premier League be bothered with Al Jazeera etc. being playable online in the UK?
They got their money for the rights to the MENA region, and from Sky/BT for the UK rights. ALJ are recovering this cost by selling subscriptions. I think if anyone was complaining to get these DNS servers blocked, it would by Sky or BT - or is it because this would be breaking their agreement with the EPL that the Premier League are involved? Actually, scrap that - there's no evidence this is anything to do with Sky or the EPL is there? Maybe ALJ are getting complaints from MENA customers about the quality of the service because UK users are hammering their servers - so they are blocking the main culprits? Truth is no one knows. But people coming on a forum to tell people they have it working, but not show how is a bit childish. |

Ok, i am going to spend a bit of time digging about the web myself. If i come across the answer i will gladly share with anyone who PM's me. Unlike some on here i really think the PL have bigger fish to fry rather than chasing a few peeps on here. This topic is being discussed on numerous boards, not just digital spy
