If i use overplay smart DNS on my PS3 to watch JSC do i have to remove it each time i want to play online Fifa, COD etc?

Are there any disadvantages to putting the settings into the router? Btw my bob speed is 60 mb will that be ok hard wired in? Obviously not the ipad. The only disadvantage with having the settings on your router is if you live with others. If you take your computer to a mates house to watch the footy, you'll need to reenter the dns settings. If at the same time, someone at home decides to log on to another service (even if it's allowed in your country, I think) like iPlayer, you might lose access to your footy stream (especially if you have to change channel or log on again.) This is because your Smart DNS service can only be linked to one ip address at a time. Hope that makes sense. |

Thanks guys, I'm trying to work this out!
What I mean is I have entered the DNA that overplay gave me to use netflix USA into my Samsung smart tv.and WD live player, Now the iplayer and 4od work fine, but when I clicked one of the apps it would not load as it needed updating! The Samsung TV then displayed an error message saying it could not connect to the interweb so wouldn't allow the app to load without it updating... But when I checked, the tv was connected so i wasn't sure what had happened. If I change the router settings on the virgin home hub thingy, will I not need the settings for Egypt installed on the router? How would that effect the smart tv with DNS settings for USA in order to play netflix USA or Brazil Canada....? Or am I just not getting how the router settings would work? Thanks |

Quick update to my issues
I dug out an old http I used when the cable scene was booming The system is 4-5 years old Has a abit AN-M2HD mboard Using the standard on board gfx (GeForce 7050) And a AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core cpu over locked slightly to 3.02ghz from 2.7ghz Again with my 30mbps fibre line connected directly to a 40" TV Now the interesting part is if I use the native resolution which is full 1080p (TV res) I get the same stuttering as I did before But interestingly if I set it to 720p again TV resolution not pc res I get a very watchable picture with minimal stutter The only assumption I can make from this is that the CPU in my laptop which is a penguin dual core 2.1ghz cannot handle the pace which is what is causing problems But what is interesting me more is people with lower spec rigs and laptops being able to stream with good quality |

I've taken the plunge and ordered the G-Box Midnight MX2, I will report back with my findings. The apk should install fine, the browser should load up properly, but as you say its the video smoothness that's important.

Is it true, that AJS ipad app wont work with Lighting AV Adapter (HDMI)? There was a report that it isnt working, but maeby after future update. I was planning to buy Apple TV to mirror games to TV, but that wont work even next update (AJS tech support guy told that guy here in forum), so i decided to buy tomorrow Apple´s Lighting AV Adapter for mirroring AJS HD games to my TV via HDMI, but will it work? I need that adapter anyway.

I'm glad that someone mentioned that movie service we are not allowed to talk about here. Big thumbs up!
Just thought I would add it in here, it might be possible to use SmartDNS over 3G, if you have a jailbroken iPhone, except I do know that it doesn't seem to work on Three. I'm yet to try with giffgaff (o2). What you need is GuizmoDNS and you pop in your primary and secondary DNS details from Overplay.net. The app sits in settings and you can set it to apply those settings to Wi-Fi and 3G connections. Pretty cool I think ![]() Can't see this Premier League Pass app turning up in time for the start of the season so kind of giving up on that one for now despite having paid for the service. I'll think twice about doing that again! As for AJS, I hope that the picture quality improves on the current version of the app and I'm all good to go. |

I did a few tests with the iPad today, and can confirm at present, HDMI out and air play do not work, both output sound, but no picture. This may change if/when AJ update the app.
The picture quality on the app itself is very poor so hopefully a update will fix it. |

Finally got round to subscribing to AJ Sport. Went for the monthly option for now, while I see what the quality is like.
I was slightly concerned after hearing of the difficulties found by others but the picture is great for me. It takes a minute to settle down but once it settles down it's perfect... Looking forward to the Premier League starting on Saturday now! One other thing - I've got the Overplay VPN on my laptop but I didn't have it running when I went through the order page (I've not used it for about 2 weeks). Last time I tried doing something that required a VPN, I had to have it running and change my country beforehand. It seems to have worked with the SmartDNS only. Couple of screen grabs I took (not the best but it gives a rough idea!): http://i.imgur.com/ZhC1uRk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/HhvI3gW.jpg |

I'll think twice about doing that again! I'm sure the PLP app will come through eventually. It's a shame that it looks like they may end up breaking their "promise" to get it here in time but it's a service that should last for 3 years (over the length of the contract) so the odd game here or there is not the end of the world. The more broadcasters that start using this tech, the more choice we'll have in the future ![]() Quote:

Cannot knock the HD channels in the slightest though. Even when my connection slowed a touch (probably 2 or 3 times for the duration), and the picture quality went slightly lower in order to cope and continue with the feed, it returned to perfect clarity within seconds. When this happened with ADMC, I found myself having to manually refresh the page quite a few times during a match. Overall very impressed so far. True test will be after the Liverpool match on Saturday! If that looks just as good then I'll be subbing up for the full season once this 1-month sub has expired. |

AJS app on iPhone does Airplay in excellent quality! However it is very unreliable. Sometimes video will not load. People have suggested that you play a youtube video and then try again but it doesn't work for me. Hopefully there will be a fix!

I'm still getting the HD channels at around 300-320kBps ~ 2500kbps, not 4000kbps as advertised

Signed up for AJS. PC is hooked up to my Epson projector - really impressed with video quality, even on a 96" screen. No match for Sky HD, but close to ITV HD quality I'd say, even on rubbish Sky internet speed.
One thing though - I can't change audio on IE10 or Chrome. Any ideas? Just get "audio 1" and "audio 2" option flickering and no way to switch between them. Channel 3 and 6HD in English, but rest in Arabic. Help?!!! |
