Next auction is actually going be early to mid next year for 2.3GHz which is going be far more important for capacity then the 700MHz auction will be in 4 years time. I think Three will be lucky get 2x5MHz of 700MHz can't see them getting 2x10MHz unless they willing put down a hell of a lot. Can see them getting 2x10MHz of 2300MHz though as it only going be mainly important for O2 and Three as EE and Vodafone have 2600MHz.

None at the moment but they will eventually it is only a matter of time. We didn't know till recently that 2.3GHz was going be auctioned of by the military. I could say the same which phones support 700MHz and don't say the American phones because they have a weird set up for 700MHz I doubt it will be same in UK.

I experience slows speeds on 3 all the time even when I am using a DC-HSDPA phone in a DC-HSDPA area on The One Plan. Download speeds are often nearly as slow as dial-up. I can't even stream a radio station at 48k for more than 5 minutes without it constantly cutting out all the time. I wish I have never got the 24 month contract. The only reason I got it is because I didn't find any reports of slow speeds on DC-HSDPA. I might end up terminating the contract when EE get 4G in my area.

Hmm... three's download speed has reached an all time low at my home location tonight, DC-HSDPAbon my S4 only managed 0.5mbps with an upload of around 1mbps, very low, not sure what's the cause, yet managed 13mbps traveling along the M6 today, things sure are irract at the moment

If you try again now as its after midnight it will be full speed again i am certain they are traffic shapeing all traffic at the moment maybe testing as this evening at 12:01 approx my speed shoot straight up to 20MB from 1Mb this has been happening for a few weeks.

I haven't noticed any of this and been in multiple places in past couple of weeks. I suppose they could be testing a traffic management system though it would make a lot of sense. It will be interesting to see if when 4G launches if 3G becomes less congested. Brilliant that Three are offering 4G for free though as it solves one of the long standing problems of Three Indoor Coverage also means they could possibly shut down remaining 2G roaming agreement with EE after 4G is completely rolled out.

Mines been like this for at least a month, when it gets to midnight it goes over 20mbps, before that it could be as low as 1-2mbps.

I've had a 30 day sim for a couple of weeks now and will cancel, I've been desperately disappointed, I can't get Internet or phone signal at work or home, only when outdoors and even then not always. Speeds (outdoors only) are 1mb.

It's only a 30 day contract so not that fussed, I'm going back to Giff Gaff, never had any problems and always the same consistent 2.5mb and strong phone signal everywhere.

There is no consistency or reliability with ANY of the networks . Compare and contrast with Japan.

I'm the Walton end of town prof, full signal outside and still only get around 3mbps at best, I used to think it was due to my old 4s but have a new samsung galaxy S3 now, it comes up as ultra fast on the phone but delivers nothing like that, don't have a problem else where, got 20mbps at work the other morning at 6am, went down to about 6mbps after 7ish, congestion or traffic management maybe?
As for where I live, it's not too much of a problem, just that the pings have got very poor lately often in 3 digits so slows opening up pages and stuff.. If threes signal checker map is correct and I am in a high speed area, which my phone backs up then there must be a problem with the mast as 24/7 congestion seems unlikely..
Thinking about what goldfire was saying, not sure what's envolved but maybe beyond the equipment at the masts which they have upgraded three are experiencing a bottle neck somewhere and are preventing more serious problems from happening by limiting volumes from highly used masts/ areas...

I highly doubt there is traffic management test going on at 7am.

There could be an issue with the mast that they are not aware off.

Instead of people complaining on a forum about speed issues, call 3, report it it wont harm you.

I've done that at my home address and at my friends address and the problems with speed were fixed in a couple of weeks.

Really slow today up in Aberdeen feels like 2G speeds.

I have a Galaxy S3 for work, and tested my 3 sim card out in that phone out of interest (my usual phone is an iPhone 5).

Sat in the same place the results were as follows:

iPhone 5 - 23.1Mbps down, 2.7Mbps up.
Galaxy S3 - 15.2 Mbps down, 2Mbps up.

With lower signal, I've got about 6-7Mbps on my iPhone 5, whilst only getting 3Mbps on my Galaxy S3

Those were averages taken from 5 speedtests. I don't think it's 3's problem, but I found my Galaxy S3 to be WOEFUL compared to the iPhone 5.

As per the post above yours, have you checked the '3' coverage checker to see if there are any maintenance / upgrade works going on in your postcode area?

Next you should contact them, the sooner they are made aware of any issue the sooner tests can be run / any repair work planned. If you don't want to phone them, post your complaint and postcode as a reply to one of their recent blog posts (they always mask the postcode before the post appears 'live')

Phone 3? And talk to who? I did that once and it took me a further 10 calls and 4 weeks to sort it out, the customer service advisor's English is so bad I couldn't run the risk of my complaining about download speed becoming mixed up and interpreted as that I wish to cancel and getting cut off and a bill for the remaining months of my contract.. in my experience that's how bad three's customer services are.. so I'll stick to moaning here...

Tell me about it took me 3 weeks to sort things out about my bill. Even resorted to Twitter and email.

It took me 30 minutes to report a fault, and them 2 days to fix it, with regular update calls.

Maybe you're the problem and not them?

Correct me if I'm wrong but is that not because the S3 is only capable of HSDPA 21mbps, iphone 5 is HSDPA+, DC and LTE/4G, basically it's better specced

I've never had a problem with 3 customer service and I have been a customer with them for 8 years.

Always easy to understand and helpful.

Its usually people who are the issue and not them, they put something into their head before they call and seem to have a problem with the indian accent.

Personally I have more of an issue understanding the Scottish or NI accent then I do an indian accent.

That's what I thought but 3 listed the S3 as super fast capable on their website, which is why the user above with his S3 thinks he should be getting better.
