LG 42LN575V-ZE and Lovefilm - unable to unpause

Hi, I got a new Lg LN42575V-ZE Smart TV this week. Very happy with it. It's connected to my VM USperhub by ethernet cable, and streams without buffering etc.

However with Lovefilm, if I pause a movie, then unpause it, I get about 10 seconds more playback before the movie locks up. No buffering wheel, no error message, nothing.

I'm unable to use shuffle to go back and restart it from an earlier point, the screen dims.

I'm sure this is a bug in the Lovefilm app, which I think is brand new to the LG Smart TV platform.

The TV downloaded the latest software load (03.21.01) as soon as it saw the internet.

Also, the sound in BBC iPlayer is out of sync (this has also been reported by other users).

Other devices on my LAN can stream Lovefilm and iPlayer perfectly (Xbox 360, PS3 and PC), and my internet connection has no other problems.

Anyone else with an LG Smart TV seen this problem? I can't find anything on LGs website to say they are aware of this issue.

Online chat with LG:
Quote:
“LG: Hello, Superhet. Can I help you with anything today?
Superhet: Hi, I have a new 42LN575V-ZE Smart tv, connected to 100Mb Virgin Media Broadband.
Superhet: I have a problem with Lovefilm app.
Superhet: If I pause a program on Lovefilm, then un-pause it, I get about 10 seconds more playback before the app freezes
LG: hmmm
LG: very strange!
Superhet: I am also unable to use FFWD / REW functions, the screen doesn't 'un-dim' properly, I'm left with a buffering overlay (with the program playing in the background)
Superhet: I can use Lovefilm okay on my PC, XBox 360 and PS3
LG: I see
LG: please bear with me
Superhet: sure.
LG: ok Hi Superhet
LG: just going to do a quick speed test
Superhet: ok
LG: find out what broadband speed you are getting in your area
LG: we suspect that this is the root of the problem
LG: the application only supports up to 100mbps so if you are getting say 100.1mbps this could interfere!
LG: may I have your postcode Superhet?
Superhet: postcode is *** ***
Superhet: I have Virgin Media cable broadband, 100Mb
Superhet: basic streaming works okay, it's only when I pause, FFWD or REW
LG: I see
LG: have you tried clicking "problem after update" in the support menu?
Superhet: No
LG: that's another good option to explore
Superhet: okay, trying that now
Superhet: PAUSE function now works okay, but FFWD & REW still don't work properly. I am left with the screen dim, and a buffering wheel on top of the program playing in the background.
Superhet: At that point, PAUSE, FFWD and REW don't work
Superhet: I have to exit back to the app menu and restart the program
LG: would you like an honest opinion?
Superhet: yes
LG: sounds like issue(s) with the LoveFilm software
LG: have you spoken to them?
Superhet: No
LG: I would advise so
Superhet: have you had this problem reported from other users?
LG: not this problem, does seem strange
Superhet: I will ask LoveFilm.
Superhet: Are you aware of any forhtcoming software updates for my tv?
LG: not at the present moment but if a fault is found one will be released
Superhet: okay, many thanks for your help
LG: you're very welcome
Superhet: bye.”

I've contacted Lovefilm about this, and will post back what they say in due course.
