26th January 2004 - NTL Changelog:

- bid-up.tv and price-drop.tv channel names in Interactive Help and Services TV channel packs page (Base and Family packs) changed to Bid TV and price-drop tv.

- Interactive Help and Services TV channel packs Terms and Conditions page changed with the new channel names where it says "images courtesy of E4, Sky One, UKTV History and Sky Movies", or something to that effect anyway.

That's all for today.

26th January 2004 - NTL Changelog:

(Didn't see that one earlier).

Hi all.
I'm a new member, although have been lurking around for a while.

I hope this is the right place to mention this. I've noticed one inconsistancy which could do with being changed (although it is only minor)

On the main Interactive screen, option one is displayed as "NTL Interactive".
Now, selecting option 2 from the menu (Email and Chat), option 3 in here is shown as "Ntl Text Messaging".

Maybe "Ntl" could be changed to "NTL" to tie in with "NTL" on the main page.

Hope you can see what I mean.

LB

Paul, as your profile doesn't show your location can I just clarify, are these Bromley or Langley changes or are you confident they apply to both?

Perhaps if anyone is posting here it would be a good idea to identify the platform otherwise we will get replies such as "I don't see that change here". The area could be identified in the post heading. Just a thought.

Or maybe even "ntl" everywhere as that is their logo after all.

Nice idea, Robert - I'm Langley, by the way.

I think most interactive things would be pretty universal.

I'm not so sure that the Interactive is universal. They may be similar but not the same. Do they run of the same server?

Also, didn't Bromley just undergo a change to Interactive which Langley didn't, or was that to bring the two into line?

No, they are not universal. For one reason all the new games channels seemed to launch later on Langley than Bromley. Bromely's Interactive homepage still has cwcom.net in it's address (IIRC)

I've noticed another interactive inconsistancy (as it seems people are watching this thread )

In the Email & Chat menu, TV Messenger is listed as Telly Messenger on the menu, but the graphical adverts for it have the service name as TeleMessenger. I assume the correct one is the latter.

Hi people. Yes the Interactive changes are universal I think. Thanks for noticing tonnes of other stuff to be changed. Hopefully people from NTL will read this thread and change them.

I'm pretty sure the changes are not universal. As was mentioned earlier, ntl have made 'cosmetic changes' to both Bromley and Langley at separate times over the past year and there have also been different games available (or not!) on the two platforms.

This leads me to think that they are controlled separately.

Couple of things which could do to be fixed if possible - when in TV Email if you want to delete an email/s the "Do you wish..." confirm/stop box still comes up purple, as does the Customer Information box saying that the stb is unable to open any external links in an email.

Any way that these could be recoded to have the new blue background for consistency?

That is because the box is part of the software and cannot be changed without a software download to your set top box, which is coming in March-June this year some time, and will also make everything else (now and next bar, etc) blue, and fix the bugs in the current purple software.

Latest report up here on Langley, Nottingham!

On 108, which is the Guest Channel, Discovery Health are still the pictures and sound as usual. However - the EPG is for all the programmes on Channel ntl!

I'm guessing this is just a muck-up - and that somebody will correct it! Thanks.

31st January 2005 - NTL Changelog:

- Announcement in Shopping section saying that all links will be moved to Lifestyle in two weeks time, and the Shopping link will be no more (maybe they will replace it with a link to Games, as the main selection screen doesn't have this on the page - it has Internet instead at the bottom at number 0).

That's all.

Edit: And I'm sorry about the changelog dates futher up this thread, that say 2004, I'm just not used to writing 2005 yet.

Teacher's TV added on channel 803, although strangely, not in the base pack at the moment.

Something called the Adult Preview Channel has also been added today. Like Teachers TV it says it is coming soon and is on channel 299. I presume it is cable's equivalent of SKY's 10 minute free adult previews which are normally transmitted around 10 pm.

Ah yes, but on Langley it's on channel 761.
