Please can someone advise me where to start if I am to unravel the mystery of ringtones !

I am wishing to start making ringtones...formats:-

Midi Mono, Midi Poly, WAV, MMF, SMF, RMF, XMF, AMR, AAC, MP3...

But I really don`t know what my first step should be...Is there any software that anyone can suggests which I can buy in order to do this.

Any advice/help/ would be very much appreciated

Thanks in advance

What phone is it for?
And by creating - do you mean composing them (you'll need something like Cubase or Cakewalk for that), or converting MP3s or something?

Personally I use Goldwave which I downloaded from HERE - lets you trim Wav files on your computer once you've ripped them off CD.

Dunno about the other formats - don't use 'em, sorry!!!

1) You name it...it will be for that phone

2) I don`t think I will be composing for the moment. I am primarily looking to convert an MP3 to the formats I metioned.

Thanks

Well - if you're going to be distributing them, then it's important you get licensed, particularly if you're charging.
