Have you got the correct parallel port cable for flashing the phone. Do you know you can flash it to make it a 3315 which gives you a few extras like picture editor. I have the software and the 3310 and 3315 flash files somewhere and as soon as I can find them will post a link for you if no one else beats me to it.

Isn't it just certain revisions of the 3310 firmware that requires a "flash cable" later firmwares allow you to use the usual datacable to upgrade to 3315.

swiftyme I have sent you a PM of where to get the flashing programs and files from.

The Carphone Warehouse will flash your phone for free if it is under 18 months old.

(This has been asked loads of times so can we please have a sticky mobile phone FAQ with info like this and on unlocking please????!!)

Type in *#0000# and this will tell you when it was last flashed - probably by nokia so its a good chance that this was before purchase and so if under 18 months it will be free.

The Carphone Warehouse said to me they can find out - probably via the IMEI number or something. If it has a known issue with the software they should flash it for free anyway. Otherwise they charge £30 to flash it.

Be warned flashing a phone yourself can be risky and if it goes wrong the warranty will be void and you will probably have to pay for it to be flashed then anyway. I would do it myself but I have read some horror stories about people who have attempted to do it and failed.
