It has one of last years biggest film now: The Hobbit. Can't complain about that!
That suprised me, and if they have more like that, it well worth it

Wow, two series lol I'm sure they'll improve given time.

Still not a lot on there for me but OK for occasional use I tend to watch more factual programmes and news. I did watch some Doctor Who not long ago and went and got the box set(s).
I like factual stuff as well, documentaries, about the earth, space and that sort of thing, there is some on Netflix, not as many as I would like mind you, which is why I also got Lovefilm, disks only. also as good as the quality is on Netflix, it is not a patch on blue-ray and I like watching that sort of thing in HD.

I also like Sci-fi and this is where Netflix does it for me, there is a load of stuff i have not watched over the years, The Stargate ones for instance. i have also found some stuff, which when first on Tv, I was not interested, like Kingdom.

I was never a bit TV watcher to be honest, which is why Netflix suits me as my main main video entertainment. Strange really, because i never thought it would.

The Uk version is getting better, but still need to improve, but saying that, even if I did not have access to the other versions, it would still do what I want.

http://hola.org/ is free and puts you straight onto the Netflix USA site. Unblocks a few sites including hulu.com and syfy.com which has a lot of Sci Fi series plus Fox amongst others. You can get an android version too which I used on a tablet in Spain.

Pay the uk netflix and use a smart dns from someone like unblock-us it costs about £3.50 a month. Then you just select what country netflix you want to watch and change when desired.

Most sites accept PayPal these days which you can use as payment.
As far as Netflix is concerned all you need is your UK account and the likes of Unblock-Us who accept PayPal which you can then access the other regions.

You should be able to access these via unblock-us dns settings.

Lol I know, but how do you actually pay for the subscription, they won't accept UK CC's so I was wondering what people do, there is a website that sell Hula gift vouchers but it works out more expensive than sky.

You can get virtual credit cards that enable you to pay for things like hulu+ http://playmo.tv/2012/02/watch-hulu-...utside-the-us/

So they tend to make longer running series than the UK broadcasters.

I lived in the States for a time and overall their programme quality is very poor but then you get good runs of consistently good shows thrown in the mix.
the quality is no more poorer than any other country.

I hope it keeps improving so people don't have to use the US version.

I've been using LoveFilm Instant on and off for a couple of months and was slightly underwhelmed by the content (especially movies).

I've just signed up for NetFlix with their free month's trial as I bought a Sony Blue-Ray player with Lovefilm and NetFlix built in.

For my tastes, Netflix has a far better selection of movies than LoveFilm Instant.

Also, it has the first series of The Killing which was not on LoveFilm.

I think I'll keep both running for a couple of months then cancel one of them. At the moment it looks like Amazon's LoveFilm will be losing out.

I've only just found out about the Media Hint addin for Chrome which allows me to access hulu.com for the free stuff (non- hulu plus). EDIT: No-one seems to know how it works and it has access to everything you do so I only use Chrome to access hulu - be warned).

I used to be able to watch The Daily Show with Jon Stewart via FireFox with Modify Headers but they seem to have tightened up the web site recently (could still see the Colbert Report though ).

I'm happy to pay about £5-6 pcm for stuff that is a couple of years old rather that do it all iffyly!

I'm not prepared to pay Sky money with 12-14 minutes of adverts every hour!

Hmm, I have lovefilm too but signed up for Netflix's free trial.

I couldnt stream Wolverine, nor Dredd, nor True Blood, nor the Internship, one of the Transformers movies wasnt available.

So I watched hunger Games and then I cancelled my free trial, as for my tastes they offer nothing that isnt on lovefilm (which itself has a crap selection at times).

I have had Netflix with Unblock for 18 months now. I have realised that in recent months most of the stuff I watch has been on the UK service. So at the weekend I made a decision to cancel Unblock for now and just have the UK Netflix only. Fist thing I notice is that my Apple tv starts netflix much quicker and loads content quicker as well. Ok I know its only £3 or so that I am saving. But NF Uk has got better and better over the last 18 months. So I am going to see how long until I want to get access to US/Cananda/Sweden etc again.

I have no problem with films etc loading, but I find very often that the sound is out of synch. Very annoying.

What are watching Netflix on?
Is it your computer or are you using a device which has a dedicated Netflix app for watching Netflix?
